Novotel Paris Coeur d'Orly Airport

We took a day here as we missed the flight and had to stay for a day before we can hop on to the next flight The Good - So clean. Spotless and Shining - Service. When you complain, they immediately act. Room was very hot, they came and opened the windows, gave me a fan - Ability to Work - Wifi worked great - Had work table / chair. I was able to attend all my meetings and carry on with my work day - Just walkable from Terminal 4. So convenient. - Paid Euro 50 more to stay till 6 pm rather than the check out time of 1 pm. Very convenient and avoided sitting in the airport chairs for four to six hours. Just OK - Breakfast - not many choices, but i got my Americano Coffee and something to eat the Bad - Front Desk doesn't pick up any phone calls. She just said that doesn't work. I need to get down to reach for any help/complaints - Air condition was switched off. They opened the windows, gave fan, etc., But if you are used to staying in good air condition, you are in trouble - Room Service doesn't speak English. I wanted to order a couple of drinks and a fruit bowl. I had to walk down and ask the restaurant and ask for it. They did serve it within fifteen minutes.

Boa experiência

Our flight arrived late into Orly (almost 11:30 pm), when we went to find the Novotel hotel we had booked. The hotel is accessed from door 47b in Orly 4 (you can see the hotel sign out the terminal windows, behind the Ibis hotel). There is a curved stairway that takes you up to the overhead covered walkway, or you can also take the free-standing glass elevator on the side of the stairway. Check-in was friendly and professional, but felt a bit strange, because there was no reception desk where we entered, only a couple of tall tables in the bar area, and we were checked in on their hand-held tablet. After checking in and putting our bags in our room, we asked about getting something to eat, and were told that the bar was going to close at midnight. (We didn't see any shops open in Terminal 4 to buy food at that hour either). So we had a very hurried sandwich while they were closing up the bar. We felt that for an airport hotel, there should at least have been some kind food option available for purchase around the clock, even packaged sandwiches. Fortunately, the next morning, the buffet breakfast included in our rate was very good, and had a large selection of items.

On approach the Novotel looked quite impressive. Once inside, the reception area is a couple of freestanding desks. Checkin experience was ok, up to my room and it was great, well appointed modern and big with a good view of the airport. I had dinner in the restaurant, the waiter served a couple who came in ten minutes after me - not a good start. I ordered dinner and a cocktail but the cod was awful, very strong smell and taste, I had a mouthful and left it. I wanted to order another drink and didn’t see the waiter again for some time so gave up waiting and went to the bar and brought a second drink back myself. When I eventually wanted my bill, I saw the waiter, signalled writing a check and was told gruffly to wait a minute! Breakfast was a let down. Although varied, the hot food was dry and tasteless and they didn’t seem to have butter for toast. The hotel could definitely train the staff better, they’re the hotels big let down. Would I recommend staying at the Novotel? Room wise yes, food wise no, service wise a big no.

Quando chegamos para fazer check in (perto das 21:30), deram-nos a chave de uma suite que não tinha sido limpa, com garrafas abertas, cama por fazer e toalhas usadas. Na recepção foi-nos dito que não tinham outra suite e por isso deram-nos um quarto de categoria inferior (mínimo), e que fariam a diferença do valor, reembolsando. O reembolso foi de apenas 20€, repito para um quarto com metade do tamanho do escolhido inicialmente.
