Worst Accor Experience Ever – Left Waiting for Hours, No Room, Overcharged

I am an Accor member and have stayed at many Accor properties across Europe and the Middle East, but my experience at Novotel Accor Kamala Beach has been an absolute nightmare. Despite having a confirmed booking, I arrived at the hotel and was told no room was available. I was then left waiting at the property for over four hours with no clear communication, no timeline, and no proper assistance. The check-in process was chaotic, stressful, and completely disorganised. The staff showed no empathy or professionalism. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, they were dismissive and unhelpful. When I asked to speak to a manager, the situation became worse rather than better. I was overcharged, which felt retaliatory simply because I asked for accountability. At that point, I had no reasonable alternative accommodation and felt the hotel was taking advantage of the situation, knowing I was stuck. No meaningful resolution was offered, no apology, and no respect was shown. This experience represents a complete failure to honour a booking, failure to provide paid accommodation, and a serious breach of basic hospitality standards — let alone Accor brand standards. I am still seeking a full refund, as the service I paid for was not provided. I would strongly advise Accor management to investigate this property urgently. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone and deeply regret choosing to stay here.

Novotel Hotel is perfect for vacation i loved my stay at this hotel with the good service,perfect sunset and beachfront view . I really appreciate the boy from breakfast shuyyaa he was extremely friendly and helpful towards us. Big thanks to him. and i recommend everyone to visit this hotel for your vacation

More kids than adults !

My partner and I tagged this hotel on to the end of a 5 week SE Asia trip over Xmas & New Year through to early January. Whilst the hotel staff are very friendly and helpful it's the worst of 7 hotels during our trip despite being on a par for cost when compared to hotels owned by smaller groups in Phuket. 1. We were allocated a room at the rear of the hotel overlooking a car park which is small and functional but poor outlook .This also means a longer walk to the hotel amenities. 2. The hotel is full of young families and a pool full of noisy kids with inflatables. There is no option for escape unless you use the beach but there ard no beds outside the pool. 3. A couple of beers were double the price paid at 5 star beach front hotel that we had just left with pool staff service. I guess you could wait for happy hour ! 4.The location at the far end of the beach makes it less accessible for town at night as there is no direct path for a couple of hundred yards if you prefer to walk. Overall , we made a mistake in choosing this hotel for us , it is the polar opposite to the rest of our experience. If you want kid friendly , busy pool areas and lounger areas it will be right up your street. If not there are more adult centric options outside of Kamala that offer much higher standards of amenity , personal service and value without paying anymore.

Amazing experience also manager "top" is amazing. Staff is really friendly and I love the app that I don't have to call the reception for anything and I get amenities in my room in like 10 mins

Amazing view, nice room, strange rules

Very Nice beach! Amazing view. The hotel is good, but it has some strange particularities: first, If you don’t leave a money depósit on the reception you can’t get a simple water by the pool. So, you need to carry money or your credit card all the time. They simple refuse to put that on your room bill. Second, you’re at the beach, near the sea, you try to rest… and they put music because they don’t yet understand that you’ve travelled from far away to listen the sound of the waves and the silence.
