Rude staff, outdated room

We stayed here for one night in a family room (2 adults one child). Check in…we arrived at 12 noon to leave our bags. We waited a few minutes whilst 6 men crowded around the lady receptionist obviously trying to get something they couldn’t have, they handed over a 50 euro note after much discussion and telephone calls. Eventually they all got back into the lift back to room 420. I then went forward not expecting to check in but to leave our bags. This was fine. The receptionist raised her eyebrows and said they wanted to stay another night in the room that was going to be ours but were told they couldn’t because the hotel was fully booked. I asked what time they were supposed to check out, she said 11am. We returned at 2.40pm. The same 6 men were loitering in reception (the ones who should have checked out at 11am). There was a gentleman now on reception. I walked up and before I could speak he said “your room isn’t ready” I said excuse me and he repeated it. We sat down to wait (check in wasn’t until 3). At 3.15 our room still wasn’t available. It became apparent the 6 men previously hadn’t wanted to leave and had given reception 50 euro to keep the room longer, when we asked if this is why our room wasn’t ready we were told we were wrong the money was for cleaning!!!! At 3.20 our room was ready. We were told we had been upgraded, which isn’t true as I was told at 12 that our room was 420 the one the men were still in. The room we got was the one we booked. On entering the room we almost choked on the air freshener that had been sprayed. The room was clean though, but was dated. It wasn’t pleasant having a shower, which had to be held (the holder didn’t fit the shower head). The bed was rock hard. Location wise the hotel was fine, would I recommend, no. There are far nicer hotels around with staff that are far more pleasant

Good option for staying near Monte Carlo if you want to save money.

Overall, I liked this apart-hotel. There’s nothing majorly bad to mention about my stay. The hotel is located right on the border of Monaco. Just head one street down the hill, and you’re in Monte Carlo. Its location outside Monaco is the main reason why the rates here aren’t as expensive as the hotels in Monte Carlo. For example, I paid €620 for 3 nights (€206 per night, including all fees, plus, the nightly pet fee) for a Comfort 1-Bedroom Apartment, while even the cheapest basic hotels in Monte Carlo were at least €350 per night on my dates, and 4- or 5-star hotels were a minimum of €500 per night for standard rooms. You can clearly see the difference, right? So, Aparthotel Adagio is a great option if you want to stay close to Monte Carlo while saving money. Also, the price I paid was for up to 5 people in the apartment. If you split this rate between two couples or five friends, it becomes a very affordable deal! Keep that in mind. However, the downside is the hotel’s location on a hill. It’s easy enough to walk down to Monte Carlo, but the climb back up is a bit tough. For reference, it’s about a 12-minute walk from the hotel to the Casino de Monte-Carlo (the heart of Monaco). My check-in was fast and smooth. I was allowed to check in an hour early, as I had requested the day before my arrival. The front desk guy that day was nice and honored my request for a room on a high floor, giving me an apartment on the 4th floor. However, the overall attitude of the front desk staff was not very friendly - most of them didn’t smile or seem to care when they saw me, which was a bit off-putting. My Comfort 1-Bedroom Apartment (#405) was very spacious. The design was basic, but I felt comfortable during my 3-day stay. Most of the furniture was in good condition, and the apartment had all the necessary amenities. As I mentioned earlier, I was happy to be on the 4th floor because the apartment got plenty of natural light, and I had beautiful views of the mountains and city from the large outdoor balcony, which had a table and chairs to sit and relax. Having a small kitchen was a big plus, although I didn’t use most of the amenities for cooking. I only used the microwave, which worked fine, and boiled water once in the electric kettle. The refrigerator was a good size and could fit a lot, including large 2L soda bottles. However, the sofas in the living room were clearly old, looked dirty, and were uncomfortable - very hard and stiff. They definitely need to be replaced. The TVs in both the living room and bedroom were outdated and small, so that was also disappointing. The bed in the bedroom was comfortable, and the large closet could easily fit all our belongings. The bathroom, while not huge, was comfortable. I appreciated the large, deep bathtub. The toilet was separate from the bathroom and located near the front door. The bathroom amenities were not impressive - I didn’t like their smell. The Wi-Fi worked fine but could have been faster. Also, I want to mention that the apart-hotel had a mini-kiosk on the first floor if you needed to buy some snacks or drinks. However, after 10 p.m. (if I remember correctly), the main hotel door is locked, and you need to enter a code to get in. I found this a bit annoying and unnecessary. To wrap up, I would definitely recommend this apart-hotel. The overall quality is very good, and the rates are reasonable for being so close to Monte Carlo, making it easy to enjoy the Monaco experience. Plus, it’s pet-friendly! So, if you have a pet like I do, you can bring them along for a small extra fee.

We stayed in a one bedroom apartment which was spacious and in a great location. Less than a 10 minute walk to the train station and the same to the Casino area. Ideal for families exploring the area . Plenty of extra bed covers available in a wardrobe and the beds in the living room area consisted of a single pull out bed and a double. I wouldn’t say the beds were the most comfortable but adequate for a short stay. The A/C was also extremely noisy but also very welcome as it was very hot while we were there. We didn’t avail of the breakfast as there are so many cafe options within a 5/10 minute walk. Overall I would recommend staying here if looking for somewhere for a family and within walking distance of everything. It is basic but once again very adequate for short stays and with lovely staff at the front desk.

Checkin painfully slow - hard work when you have four tired children and it’s way over 30 degrees Celsius. Arrived at 5pm to be told one of our rooms wasn’t ready even though check in is 3pm. Was given a room up a steep hill to be met with lots of steps into the building - we have a twin pram and asked for accessible accommodation. We then had to walk all the way back to the reception/main building , and they swapped both rooms into that building I’m not sure why that wasn’t done in the first place and told we still had to wait for the second room to be ready. Room wasn’t brilliant wasn’t overly clean either . And for £243 a room it certainly wasn’t worth it. My card was charged a pre authorised charge for the amount of one room. When we got there we had to then pay for both rooms and was told we had to wait for the pre authorisation to be sent back in around 7 business days. I told them I wasn’t happy with this and to cancel the preauthorisation - as far as I was aware the card would not be charged except in the event of a no show or etc which is how we have always done it so just be aware of that. Wouldn’t recommend overall.

Excellent location, the friendly team, especially the reception check-in lady doing what she can for early check-in, and the room is clean, spacious and fully equipped - and again, the location is just fantastic; you can be in Hotel De Paris is 5-6 min walk using the public elevator and the mall escalator - fabulous apartment and thanks to the lovely team, N.B. I even forgot a branded T-shirt and called them a couple of days later, and they found it and stored it for me. Give this place a try. You will not regret it
