The Sofitel Zallaq is an luxurious hotel in many aspects. We went as a family and enjoyed it thoroughly. The beach is natural and of high quality. The hotel architecture and room design are excellent. The service was also outstanding. Outlets are good, but quite on the steep side of prices. Many alternative good options exist outside in Zallaq springs which is just across the road. If you have a car, Rifaa is a close drive with some excellent restaurants. Although the hotel was quite full during our stay, the restaurants were noticeably empty despite the recent opening of indoor restaurants. I would consider the exaggerated high prices of food at the hotel as the only drawback, otherwise everything else was perfect.

It was a week day the bell boy was very rude no one explained to me that smoking was not aloud altho i booked a smoking room the reception were not cooperating properly and had an incident with them as they told me im not allowed to have guest visiting

Due to Covid19, we couldn’t come for months. We went this week and the less I can say is that the stay was perfect ! The Hotel, the staff and the management made our stay enjoyable, despite strict anti-Covid19 protocols which were followed. So, the stay was also very safe.

Perfect place for family especially with small children. Would highly recommend the hotel to my friends. Room service was slow we requested the baby cot upon check-in and we have to call them 4 times it arrive at 10pm and my baby was already half asleep and dressing gown didn't arrived even we requested it since day 1.

The stuff are not helpful and the service is very slow , I reserved 2 rooms and the check in was at 3:00 pm , one room was ready at 4:00 pm and we went all to set in this room until the second becomes ready which took more than 2 hours , and they ask us to come down to the reception to collect the key of the second room! After that long time waiting!!! I refused and tell them you have to bring it up they said ok, but as usual they took more than 30 min to bring the key. At the end They gave me the worst room it was the only room with no bidet sprayer and when I asked for one they said this is the only room with no pump and we can’t fix a sprayer for you. Beside that , the car parking is in the lower level and we must reach the reception from outside using the stairs ! Corridors have bad smell . I did not enjoy my stay at all, this is my first and last time in this hotel .

Very Poor Serrvice - Not What I expected

This was my birthday treat with my wife. Nice room and upgrade to better and more elevated room was welcomed. Everything was clean - again welcomed. Beach and pool were both nice - welcomed. Bed was wonderfully comfy - but woken up needlessly (see below). Service: only 1 bathrobe in the room - they knew two of us were coming. Called downstairs, no answer from concierge, reception, or housekeeping. Tried again, concierge said it wasn't his job, but agreed to tell housekeeping. It took more than an hour to be delivered. Ran out of water at 10pm (only 2 small bottles left in room - I mean really? So penny-pinching, unthoughtful, or both), so called and ordered 4 bottles from reception - not delivered at all, so went to bed about midnight. Should I have called again? Should I have to - it's supposed to be the Sofitel. Breakfast was nice enough, but was ordered between 9 and 10 am. It arrived at 07.54 with a loud knock, twice, waking us up. Many of these comments also apply to our stay earlier in the summer (robe & water & room service) - these should have been corrected - they were not. Sorry, but I'll not be troubling the Sofitel again - there are plenty of other hotels eager for the business right now that will provide much better service for the money (or provide this level of service at a much more competitive price).

Starting to Lose its Charm

I've always enjoyed staying at Sofitel ever since it was first opened, the hotel always had an escape feeling to it being a bit away from the busy parts of Bahrain, and it has lovely facilities and rooms, but on our last visit we really starting noticing that the hotels standards are dropping, it seems that the management is focusing in quantity (attracting a large number of people) rather than quality which is never good sign for a 5 star hotel. some aspects of the service failed to meet standards, pools and beach were not cleaned properly, there aren't many adult facilities away from young kids so on a busy day you don't really feel as comfortable in this hotel as you would do in other hotels, i think there is serious planning that needs to be done if this hotel is to compete with other fantastic hotels on the Island

Staycation

School vacation is by default an opportunity for a staycation in our family, over the past five years. With the summer sun at its savage hottest, we obviously wanted a location with lots of water to splash around in. A couple of choices in the Kingdom of Bahrain but Sofitel was picked beacuse well the drive to it itself can be made into an adventure of sorts, including a take-out lunch, trip to shop for snacks, sunscreen, etc. Fastforward to check-in to a spacious room, with massive balcony and a magnificent view of the beach and sunset. The kids enjoyed the beach, building sandcastles, while we as adults ensured to hydrate ourslves at the LaPlage Bar. Watchful lifeguards gave us a sense of security on our kids safety when they were in the cordoned of part of the sea. Dinner including desserts was sumptious with quite generous portions. So was breakfast. One can choose to have meals served in disposable containers. Bathroom amenities include shower gels and shampoos from Hermes, and well you want to make that bath last forever. The hotel was kind to allow us to continue enjoying at the beach until late evening, even after we had checked out earlier in the day. For a full day, including the room, beach, etc, the trip cost us just about BD150, for 2 adults+a teenager+a 8year-old. That is way less than what we would spend for airfare for two persons to any of our neighbouring Gulf nations. So go ahead take a Sofitel Staycation.

It was a wonderful experience. The rooms are clean and the facilities are wonderful. Room service and house keeping are up to five star hotel. However, the check in process is very very slow even it was a weekday.

Our experience this past weekend in the Sofitel Hotel in Bahrain was an experience like no other. We were greeted by an amazing staff and the synchrony and genuine actions made us feel like experiencing one of the most beautiful symphonies performed at a beautiful concert hall. Zarah took care of our check in process while Adil was coordinating some paperwork greeting us in our mother tongue Spanish, you could sense Nonah was smiling (although we all were wearing face masks) and all of this under the courteous coordination of Mr. Ezzat. They checked us in 4 hours in advance and we found ourselves in this amazingly decorated and sanitized suite. The sea view was astonishing and the comfort was amazing. We spent the whole day in the beach, the beach staff was super accommodating the guys from the Towels stand (Abdullah) and the super Bar Tender (Gajandra) provided an excellent service for us. We certainly give a score of 100/100 to this hotel and their amazing staff, at the end of the day there are plenty of beautiful places but very few where you feel genuinely welcomed and spoiled.

Stayed here repeatedly since August 2019 - repeat business for me speaks volumes on how guests are treated, I’ve just booked my 8th stay in 6months - speaks volumes. I could stay in Manama City big corporate hotels but choose to travel out for 25 mins - great atmosphere

relax in a warm weather .we spend a nice family time .half board they just need to renewal there menu for dinner .
