Mercure Centro Port Macquarie 4 gwiazdki

Loved our three night stay in January. We booked a large suite so had lots of room and a balcony. Air con was great as it was very warm. Pool was lovely. The restaurant for breakfast and dinner was excellent, great to be able to use our Accor membership. Easy parking and very nice staff.

As Accor Members we chose to stay at Mercure Port Macquarie for the Accor benefits and we are glad we did. Very lovely stay. The reception staff were lovely and very helpful. We didn't use the restaursnt onsite but it would of been handy if we were staying longer then 1 night. We had a king spa balcony room which was very spacious and a great room. The spa was a great inclusion. Hotel was in a great location and close to shops; bars and restaurants and walking distance to the water. We will definetly be back.

I had given a very positive feedback about this hotel early this year, but now the management has changed and has it changed for the worse ? There's a new front office manager, Michael by name who is absolutely outrageous and totally unfriendly with customers. I've stayed for innumerable nights this year and wanted a corporate discount - if he had said "No" that's fine, but he said that they had not finalised the rates for 2022-23 - ridiculous - almost half the year has gone and they are yet to finalise - is it lapse of managerial talent or loss of customer commitment ? In any case the issue is not that but the way he communicated was very pedestrian - not experienced like this in this hotel. I am taking up with ACCOR as well. Bravo but these guys won't care ! Cheers.

This was our second stay at the Mercure. All of the staff were super friendly and made you feel welcome. The room was spacious and clean, and the large balcony was an added bonus. We had breakfast on all three mornings - the continental breakfast was very good and my partner had the cooked breakfast which was excellent. The hotel is well located and a short walk to a number of restaurants and bars, and shopping.

New Owners, they have increased the room rates by at least 25% since taking over 6 mths ago. the office staff, who been there over 7 years have been moved on. The chef was aIso moved on. The offering in the restaurant, under the new chef - mediocre at best.
