Dishonest management and staff

Awful service + management who lie to you. I stayed here a few times, always a good and loyal customer, never caused any issues. However I had to cancel one booking due to widespread 'red alert' dangerous weather across UK during January, dangerous ice all across the country. Spoke to a duty manager called Para/Fara. He said yes we acknowledge the dangerous weather, if you contact booking.com and they recommend we refund/rebook your stay, we promise to do so. I have crystal clear recording of this conversation and promise. Credit to booking.com they fully understood and gave the recommendation to Mercure Manchester Norton Grange in writing. Did Mercure Manchester Norton Grange fulfil and honour their promise? Nope. They instantly broke their promise and dishonoured what the duty manager PARA/FARA just promised. Whoever replies on their behalf on the booking.com app never puts their name - extremely unprofessional. My last request on their was to inform the duty manager PARA/FARA, that I would escalate this accordingly. No idea whether they did or not, given how unprofessional and deceitful the whole set up is, who knows, but I have now escalated this to the umbrella organisation Accor, booking.com and Ombudsman. To all customers - the staff running this Mercure Manchester Norton Grange are complete and utter, dishonest liars. Avoid at all costs.

Das Hotel ist kein 08/15 Kettenhotel. Historisches Gebäude mit Flair. Es liegt "etwas" außerhalb, daher benötigt man ein Auto, wenn man nicht im Hotel essen möchte. Essen hervorragend und zu empfehlen. Gym sehr gut ausgestattet. Immer gerne wieder

Típico hotel inglés con moqueta por todos los lados, habitación sin aire acondicionado. Para ser un Mercure necesita una pequeña reforma. Habitación normal. Desayuno bueno. Personal simpático y atento. Tienen spa y piscina cubierta. Bonita localización pero en medio de la nada, cerca de polígono industrial, bus 17 y estación de Castleton relativamente cerca. Para estándar español es un 3 estrellas.

Las habitaciones un poco standard, nada que resalte. El personal amable y respetuoso. El hotel esta algo alejado del centro de la ciudad, pero esta bien para relajarse un poco en un entorno bastante tranquilo.
