Mercure Cardiff Holland House Hotel & Spa 4 estrelas

Check in opened at 3pm, we arrived at 4pm our room was not ready, we were asked to wait another 15 minutes but as we had tickets for a show they found us another room, we're apologetic and provided us with drinks. The room had a draft from the windows that did not open, which were next to the bed. The heating unit was behind another wall so not efficient. The shower head was faulty. When we told the staff upon checking out, he didn't offer and apology. Good breakfast and bed was comfy (but cold). Jacuzzi wasn't working, no private changing rooms or robes for the spa and floor was filthy.

My daughter booked this for us for a get away, we looked forward to this for some time but after a long drive the problems started, we had trouble parking although I understand this is no fault of the hotel but please consider this if you do drive, we then went to announce our arrival via check in which was from 3pm onwards, it was just before 4 and it was totally crowded, long queue to check in and nobody explaining what or why, when we got to the front the staff must have been in auto pilot because they were very robotic and non apologetic,we did not even get any eye contact but after a very brief exchange of our details we had a key and were on our way to floor 7 despite requesting at the desk a higher floor where we were simply told "no" so we get into the room and it was ok, in need of modernization but never the less it was ok, until we could not get any of the sockets to work, this included the TV, frustrated at this point and thinking of leaving we contacted reception who sent maintenance to the room within minutes, this changed everything, the maintenance manager arrived according to his badge (Gary was his name) he was polite and sorted the issue in seconds, we told him we were thinking of leaving and told him why, he explained how sometimes check ins are very busy at periods when the hotel is full and how hard the front team work, then apologized again for the power issue, we asked several questions about Cardiff including where to get cocktails and a good breakfast for a morning after a night of indulgence,his knowledge was truly helpful, he directed us to the bar menu for pre going out drinks and sent us to some wonderful hidden gems and also advised that an offer was on for hotel breakfast which we indulged in the next day and was well worth it, we would have not done so had he not told us to!! He even knew the times for the leisure facilities and the bus number down to the bay, thanks to this chance meeting we were happy again, after returning from our night out we were greeted by a lovely young gentleman from the night team who was also very considerate and offered me some water Overall a great stay based on the examples of 2 staff members - Gary and the night gentleman We will certainly be returning soon and will recommend to our peers

Quarto muito amplo e banheiro ótimo.

O investimento nesse hotel valeu muito a pena! O quarto é bem espaçoso e limpo! E a vosta sensacional!! A piscina aquecida e a sauna fizeram os nossos dias em Cardiff mais relaxantes! A localização é excelente!! O único ponto que precisa de melhorias é em relação ao café da manhã! Com pouquissimas opções saudáveis!

Bem localizado, 10-15min a pé do Castelo (onde pára o ônibus, caso você venha de Londres). Quarto espaçoso, amenities e ferro de passar disponível no quarto. Café da manhã com bons produtos e bem variado. Espaço pra reuniões e conferências. Staff simpático e prestativo. O restaurante oferece bons pratos e cerveja a um preço adequado.
