I enjoyed my stay here. The location is fantastic. My Accor Diamond status was recognised which was great. I want to recognise the outstanding front desk staff member JC for amazing support and helpfulness, professionalism and efficiency. Daily room servicing was excellent. There are some nice options at the restaurant and bar. Although starting to get a little tired, this hotel is good value for what you get, clean, comfortable and convenient. I stayed here previously about two or three years ago and there seems to have been a marked improvement since then.

Before my visit to Christchurch, I was invited to place a bid for a room upgrade. I would know when I checked in if my bid was successful. Am pleased to say that it was. The last time I visited Christchurch was two or three years before their tragic earthquakes, so I was interested to find out how much had recovered. Am pleased to say that there has been a great deal of recovery, with a fair amount still to be done. My room had great views of Cathedral square, with part of the ruined cathedral to one side. Sadly money ran out while rebuilding the cathedral, but the hopes are that work will start again in the near future. The hotel staff were most accommodating and friendly. Although I cannot single out one particular staff member, they all went out of their way to help me with my requests. Nothing was too much trouble for them,no matter how busy they were. This hotel is in the perfect location for a visitor to wander around the city, with everything within easy walking distance. Within two or three minutes by foot is the City Circle Tram terminus. If I find myself wanting to visit Christchurch again, this hotel would be my first choice, for however many nights I decided to stay.

Still my go to when in Christchurch. Location can’t be beat. Thanks to the wonderful Josh for looking after us again and treating us well. We had one of the suites which is an excellent size with its own balcony. In the afternoon the sun beats down into the room so it heats up quickly. A couple of shade blinds would fix that. Some of the furniture (the coffee table) and desk are starting to look a bit ratty. Wonderful modern couch in the room though. The bathroom still has the sink outside the bathroom which continues to be odd and amuse me. The wine list at the bar had improved since I was there three months ago. I think the dinner menu is better too. That said it is difficult to know what is an entree and what is a main course. Breakfast has a good selection but make sure to order a coffee from the barista as the drip coffee is less than average. Will be returning soon.

A great central hotel. Fabulous staff and great restaurant for dinner. 4 star room a little tired but a very comfortable sleep in a great location.

The manager reached out regarding the buffet concern. They are going to give me a refund on that $760 Christmas buffet bill. Based on this I changed my overall review to a three (average ) The location is great. I would say now for what I spent it is as good as most hotels at that price point.
