Great to be home far away from home.  Almost after one year, I am back to Sofitel Phnom Penh  Phokeethra and it still Magnifique. I still feel and see the same smiling faces, addressing you by name and the excellent services that exceed expectations. I feel that I was surrounded by friends making my stay more comfortable, safe and relaxed.  Nikkole, in charge of the Club Millesime whom I got acquainted with in my previous stays at Sofitel PHN always made my stay more memorable with his excellent customer service, always helpful and handling my requirements as his own and recommended me to great restaurants in the city of PHN.  One of the events that touches the heart is the attentiveness of the room service staff (see attached). I was so impressed with such kind gestures and thoughtfulness.  The team from concierge / security is always caring and ensuring my safety; noting the plate number of the transport.  Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra is not just a hotel; it's a place you can call home.  Congratulations to the General Manager Monsieur Chevet, what a great team you have keeping the Sofitel brand flying high !

Lavish and classic but not me...

Mixed opinion and a lower review based on my specific taste in properties. This property has a lavish lobby area, which offers a bar, cigar lounge and plenty of seating space in a classic environment. Personnel are extremely friendly, welcoming and willing to assist. Check in process was smooth, professional, overall took around 5-Minutes. Lifts to rooms a short walk from the lobby. Rooms in my opinion are aging, clean, but aging. Small things like bedside lamps showing wear and tear, curtains starting to show signs of time and overall design of a more classic era. Room selected had a balcony, small area with a view of the city. Small seating area with a table, couch and chair. TV, never used so no idea on channel availability. Bed was a good size, but mattress was hard (my preference, but not all). Pillows, good selection and had a good nights sleep. Room is air conditioned and offers a fan over the bed. Bathroom offered all that is needed, spacious, double sink, shower and bath. Breakfast, was not too impressed, found various options, but overall taste could be improved, many items were cold. Believe this property has the offering of two breakfast locations, local and international. Nice area, quite and relaxed. Overall was passable, but could do with some improvements. Staff were excellent, extremely friendly again and wanting to assist all the time. Hotel has a pool, but was under maintenance during my visit, but the property offers access to a club which seems to be on the premises with a pool, tennis, gym etc. The actual premises of the property are lush, so no complaints there. Would i return, yes i would, but the property is not really my style in the classic feel.

From the pick-up at the airport, to the heartfelt welcome from the Sofitel team - we had the most wonderful 8 day stay at the Phnom Penh Sofitel. The staff were so attentive, knew exactly who we were and attended to all our needs (even when we didn't know that we needed it). Every aspect of the hotel is simply beautiful, the food and beverage is magnificent and the staff are highly trained and competent in providing a warm and welcoming service to guests. We were so impressed that we booked our next visit before we left.

Second visit to this fabulous hotel

I first visited this hotel when it had just opened in 2011 and it is just as spectacular as I remember. I really appreciated the beautiful, spacious lobby, and especially the photographs of Georges Portal from the 1920s which really set the atmosphere of the magic of Phnom Penh. Impeccable service throughout my stay. The bed was extremely comfortable, the luxury toiletries were by Balmain; a delicious breakfast (I chose European). An exquisite stay.

Very good location, very peaceful environment, very high quality from A to Z but the best part of the hotel is its team and warm hospitality : Whole Front Office team starting with Vanita, Italian Restaurant team starting team with Dara, Housekeeping team and of course hotel management which manages and supervises everything meticulously with all details.
