Clean hotel in a cosy neighbourhood

Budget friendly hotel at a good location. The room was as expected small, but most importantly, it was clean. Overall, the whole hotel had a clean and modern look. The staff was speaking English and were in general helpful. The only criticism comes from the lack of places to hang and store things, like clothes etc. The otherwise modern interior design could have included some clever hook and shelf designs. The hotel was located at a nice non touristy neighbourhood with good access to the metro.

When we travel to other capitals, Ibis Budget is our go-to accommodation. The price is lower than other hotels, and we always have a clean room, warm water, fresh towels, and very helpful receptionists. Ibis Budget Las Ventas had a vending machine available 24/7, a dining room, and in-room amenities like a shower, toilet, and sink. Highly recommend this place for budget travelers!

Stayed for a week with my girlfriend. The room is neat, clean and tidy. Every single morning they always tidy up the room and make sure it's always in high standard. The breakfast is all right in a reasonable price. The staff are all helpful and very accommodating. The hotel is just five minutes away from the nearest metro station and there's a lot of nearby cafe, takeaway shop and off license store. Over all, this hotel is highly recommended. Five star rating in a very reasonable and affordable price.

Avoid Ibis Budget Hotels

I recently stayed at the Ibis Budget Madrid Centro las Ventas and was disappointed by the overall experience. My first impression of the room was so depressing that I terminated my Accor All membership within minutes of entering it since I could not cancel my stay or upgrade to another Ibis hotel. Those in charge of designing the hotel have cut so many corners that what they offer is more akin to a prison cell than a hotel room. The room is tiny, lacking basic amenities and storage space. What they call a desk should be more appropriately described as a large shelf. The colours are drab - do not believe the photos on the website – similar to what you find in public institutions rather than places that are supposed to welcome you. Everything except the bed, a plastic stool and a plastic bin is strapped to the walls. The only storage space is under the bed and on four small shelves: one the size of a glossy magazine under which you find five hangers, two shelves the size of a small book strapped on each side of the bed (not the wall), and a small shelf under the sink. The mattress is ok, but the pillows are the worst I have ever experienced. Do not believe the ‘sweet bed’ experience their marketing promises (amusingly, in several places in the hotel, it also promises that you will sleep like a ‘trunk’ (sic) rather than a log). The toilet room has no lock and a sensor-based light – you must wave your hands in the air in the middle of your business to get it back… Their Wi-Fi is fine, and the people working there are helpful. However, this does not make up for the rest of the woeful experience that awaits you there. I have been an Accor All membership holder for more than 10 years and have spent quite a lot of money on them—no more. My experience in this hotel shows that the company puts profits (the price is not as budget as one might think) before customers. Unless you have no choice, I strongly suggest avoiding all Ibis Budget hotels, not just this one. Do not believe the 4.3/5 score the hotel website currently boasts. It misled me. I hope it won’t mislead you.

Basic but comfortable

Good value, basic accommodation. Clean and comfortable, although room is small. Not in the centre of Madrid but close to the underground and with restaurants and shops nearby. You can check in and out at 12 noon which can be very convenient.
