Great location - only 15 minute walk to centre and some lovely shops/pubs to visit on the way. The 2 ladies on duty were very friendly and helpful - Esme and Elena - from checking us in, sorting out our tv and then serving at the bar. Plenty of choice at breakfast and everything was hot and kept topped up. Our room was very comfortable - the bed especially - and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Parking can be an issue due to the size of the car park but we were informed of a nearby alternative. Luckily we didn't need it as a space became available - all down to luck.

Visit to York and stay with Ibis again.

We visited for three days to look at the sights and go to a gig at The Barbican. I've stayed with Ibis before. Our room was ok but we found it cold. The parking situation was impossible we were not informed of the cost. We had to use the parking across the road. The car park is very small and does not have many spaces. We initially could get a coffee as I have in other ibis hotels in the bar area complimentary but on the second day a sign was put up saying we could only have complimentary drinks at breakfast. It was a bit disappointing, the staff in general were pleasant particularly the bar staff. Will complete this trip feeling disappointed.

Terrible attitude towards disabled people & access. To this company it’s ok to treat us as second class citizens!

This hotel is ok inside. Nice rooms. Comfortable beds. Good shower. But beware if you use a wheelchair! The lift from the street is broken. On asking the staff, it’s been broken for months and the company are not interested in fixing it as they have access by the back door. Yes disabled people can’t use the front entrance. No, we are second class citizens! We have to go along a narrow pavement, which has an incline towards the road. This is really dangerous for wheelchair users as our chairs pull us into the road if we are not careful. And it’s totally pitch black as there is no lighting. Then at the back door you have to use an intercom and then they open the automatic doors. But then you are faced with more doors which are not automatic. And from reception to the accessible room there are two more manual double doors. Why do so many businesses not regularly maintain their accessible equipment? Or fix them asap when they go wrong? If the main door was broken, would they expect all their customers to use the rear entrance?

The issue with the lift at the front is that the parts needed to repair this are no longer available so the lift cannot be repaired and is obsolete. We did try and help you with the internal doors when we could and we do understand your concerns with the path at the side providing access to the ramp at the back. Arrivés de nuit nous avons eu beaucoup de mal à trouver l’hôtel car l’enseigne est peu visible ! La première chambre attribuée ce soir là était MINUSCULE au 3 ème étage ( sa salle d’eau était pratiquement aussi grande …😡) Il faut dire que les courses de chevaux étaient en cours du mercredi au samedi …l’hôtel était donc plein ! Le lendemain le responsable nous a trouvé une chambre parfaite au 1 er étage :118 car nous restions à York une semaine complète!merci beaucoup ! Propre , grande , bonne literie… Le personnel dans son ensemble est très professionnel et très aimable Le buffet du petit déjeuner est très complet ( on peut demander œuf au plat , réchauffer les Pancakes …) le petit bémol les fromages : racornis en lamelles et bcp trop fort le « Brie »… En ce qui concerne le parking , non disponible à ce moment Là à l’hôtel , nous avons garer la voiture au Nunnery Lane car Park à 5 minutes à pied ! Un IBIS Style tout à fait correct ! Je recommande !

Cuando llegamos al hotel encontramos que habían ocupado nuestra habitación con otros pasajeros, a pesar de tener la reserva con anticipación. Nos enviaron a un hotel muy alejado, que no estaba en nuestros planes. El pasajero está indefenso. Ni siquiera nos ofrecieron libro de quejas. Pedimos reembolso del precio pagado, pero no lo hicieron.
