Good For An Overnight stay if heading to an island

Stayed one night enroute to Malolo Island. Rooms very dark and in dire need of an upgrade. The real whole resort does with the pool having missing pavers and mouldy umbrellas. Having said that we tried dinner at the restaurant and have to say that the food was excellent with the Ika Koda fresh and excellent along with the smoked short rib and seafoood dishes. Meat was so tender and the flavours very good. Service was friendly and attentive Whilst the resort is aging, the staff are friendly and we did have a nice view of the mountains. This place is very close to the airport and marina a good spot for an overnight stay. I’d definitely go back just to eat at the restaurant

The Novotel Nadi is situated close to Nadi airport Pros Close to the airport $10 taxi fair, swimming pool good restaurant tasty food shop onsite plus spa with good selection of massage options. Check in was fast and easy with no delays or hassle. Staff were friendly:) Cons The rooms are tired and well overdue a refurb, but they were clean and tidy and for two night before or after your island holiday it’s ok. Need to open the pool bar that would be better for poolside drinks. Pool furniture has marks and mould stains and needs to be replaced.

First the good! Excellent staff, welcoming and friendly. The restaurant for dinner was good, but ruined by the slowness of the service. I think this is Fiji in general but the staff were friendly, even if it took 2 hours for 2 courses! The bad: Booked an “Executive” room. What a disappointment! I’d have not liked to have seen any of the other room types! Bad lighting. Even a nuclear explosion in the middle of the day would not make this room bright. It’s really poorly designed for lighting, and if you have bad eyesight you won’t be able to read inside during the day. The ac had two settings. On or off! The fan squeaked so couldn’t have that on at night. You could adjust the speed of the AC but not the temperature. The fridge had turned a mustard yellow due to age, it worked but looked about 15-20 years old. The sink and surrounds were old and not within the bath area. The shower was fine, but the grouting and tiles need replacing. The floor looks dirty but isn’t (used a towel to try to clean it and towel came up clean). The smell of the room due to dampness was off putting but I’m used to that in climates that have a high humidity. Avoid at all costs!

really disappointing stay

It was a really disappointing experience... smelly old rooms, very noisy aircon and fas, besides being really close to the airport, there was no airport shuttle, and unfortunately being badly bitten on my back by an insect during the night. Breakfast was quite lame with soggy pastries. Gone down since the last time I was there. Not staying again, even if I'm an Accor member.

Is this hotel perfect? No! There is a plan to renovate and I think it needs it. However the view to the mountains, 2 large beds in the room, the pool and the staff make it my go to 1st night (and last night) hotel. The lush gardens and short drive to the airport make it ideal for last night before flying out. The breakfast is DELICIOUS! The best omelette I have ever had and the fruit and pastries were delicious. Vinaka to the staff.
