Scam alert to all Nadi Mercure Guests !!!

Warning to all Nadi Mercure hotel guests !! This is actually not about the hotel itself, as there is nothing wrong with this place, it is a nice hotel period. It is about the bottle and souvenir store attached to the hotel. I am talking about the Tropical Trader shop. Turns out they absolutely scam hotel guests and which ever tourists walks in there to buy spirits. They multiply the price by a little over twice. I noticed for instance that a small bottle of Bounty Rum which normally retails all around town for about 36 to 37 F$ is marked up to 76 F$. After a quick check, I discovered that all others spirits bottles were also more than double the regulated prices. This is not only illegal, but a clear way tp say they are taking advantage of tourists, which reflects badly on Fijian tourisms. Also as a local I felt really insulted to be scammed the same way they do to tourists. I immediately refused to pay and returned the bottle. Here i though I found a nice little store around the corner with a nice choice of beers and wine, when I realised the prices were meant to screw tourists from the hotel. This not on and this why I am exposing this place. They derserve to be highlighted as such. This shop is part of the Tappoo brand, a well known tourists shopping stores all over Fiji. To the Mercure management, I stress this also reflects badly on you, and you should be warning your guests not to shop there. You should also report them to the fair trade office and tax office because i bet they only pay taxes on the regular price and keep the rest in their pocket. To all Mercure Guests, please just walk accross the street or go to any other bottle store to find regular prices for your spirits. You have been warned !! Vinaka !!

Wonderfully quaint and warm and family orientated. Staff is excellent and accommodating especially when you've time to spend a couple days. I got to know several of the staff, especially "Dee". He taught me how to make a cappuccino, barista style.

This is not review yet but more like to request. Hello Mr. Work I like to play tennis while we stay in Mercure Nadi ( booked already ) under the name KARYANTO. Could you organise my request please? I just dont want put on weight while holiday in fiji, as i read on reviews the food is excelent Thank you regards, D. Karyanto

Motel masquerading as a hotel. It's old and tired and does not reflect the name Mercure. The best thing about it is the pizza.

Dhiraj (Dee) made our stay! He was so lovely, helpful and accommodating. The resort was nice however a little tired but clean and tidy. Close to shops,food outlets, bars and clubs. Some music in the pool area would have been nice however our stay was enjoyable.
