Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa 5 yıldız

Waitui beach club is 10/10 Adults only! We stayed in Waitui plus room type and it was worth every cent. Make sure you utilise all the freebies included and there were lots! Great couples massage, free cocktails and canapés around the pool, little touches like free pure Fiji sunscreen, cold water and plenty of fresh towels all day and kava in afternoons. Laundry service was great, clothes were washed and folded back on our bed within an hour. Great breakfast at beach front restaurant included. Also use of journal lounge, serving drinks all day, afternoon tea and late night drinks. We tried dinner at the main resort buffet and it was average Dinner at the Waitui beach club restaurant was amazing. If you’re travelling without kids I would definitely choose the adults only beach club area. Pool was great and nice and cool. Lots of lounges and beachfront day beds. Main resort looks good for kids. There’s a small convenience shop that is reasonable and sells souvenirs also. Very efficient and friendly staff. Taxis are organised efficiently by staff and are FJD55 to airport cash only. There’s an ATM at reception. Great sandwich shop near reception that are made fresh and have coffee also. There is a huge new construction part of the Sofitel out front of hotel, but we didn’t hear any noise. Loved our stay at Waitui beach club and can’t wait to return. also.

The positive is that all staff are excellent. On the other hand: Sunbeds at the beach have no covers. Staff know this and even serve people drinks whilst lying on hard artificial rattan beds. We got our own covers as staff watched on. Their answer as to why no covers are put on the beds is that it has always been so. Food is adequate. Nowhere including Watui is excellent. The poolside menu is very limited (without smaller nibbles) and when staff serve you dinner they leave a QR code for TripAdvisor and their name. It is not a good look to be pressured into leaving good reviews after every dinner. Don’t try to run a tab even when sitting in the restaurant in Watui. Staff will randomly appear for you to sign the bill. Even staff who volunteer to run a tab disappear to be replaced by a new staff member with the bill (they know your room number already by the way). There is a massive building site behind the Watui side block of bedrooms. Nobody told us that all sleep must finish by 8am. Rooms have the bathroom sink in the bedroom rather than the bathroom which has a sliding door. The terrace has 2 seats and a coffee table and no light (!). Not exactly 5 stars. Local taxis are not allowed to collect from the hotel thereby ensuring a pricing cartel. Price from airport was 30FJD with the price on return 55FJD. There is an excuse posted at reception which all taxi drivers - hotel’ or local - say is simply an excuse. Hopefully guests like loud music around the pools as there is a constant stream of intrusive music DJed all day with varying volume. And finally the bar is closed by 10pm so don’t expect a late (?) drink. This is a four star hotel closer to 3.5 stars than 4.5. If it wasn’t for the staff we would have left early.

This was our second time at the Sofitel, and we loved it even more than the first time. Our 3yo daughter loved the Kids Club, a special shout out to Mary, Maryam, Terry and Sava, she loved them so much and even wanted to go say goodbye on our final night. Waitui and Solis restaurants were amazing, they were the only places we ate the whole time we were there. All of our servers were amazing, our daughter loved Lola and Wana and would always look for them for big cuddles. Lolo was amazing, always remembered us and our orders before we were even seated. The executive lounge was also a nice touch as an Accor Explorer member, we couldn't make the cocktail hour as out of kids club timeslots, but the breakfast and high tea were fantastic.

We had an amazing stay at the Sofitel. The staff were all extremely friendly. We particularly loved the tour of Nadi with Sammy and Ben. Very knowledgeable and helpful guys. The tour was just the right amount of time, they were very proud of their city and took the time to show us the market, the rugby stadium, schools and the temple. Thank you for making our time in Fiji so enjoyable. Hopefully see you again soon

Tiki at the concierge desk arranged for access to the executive lounge so I could wait in comfort before my airport taxi arrived. Waisa, the lounge guest service agent, welcomed me and provided me with an amazing lounge experience! Previously located on the lower level, the lounge has just been relocated to a brand new space upstairs. It has lovely atmosphere. There is an abundance of comfortable seating, a business area, and restroom and shower facilities. They offer breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening cocktails with hors d'ouvres. It's a gem of a lounge and I am most grateful to have been given the opportunity to relax there before leaving for my flight.
