For our Christmas party our company Model Town Charitable Trust, decided to go to Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa. This was my first time to experience a buffet dinner. The service and food was satisfactory and pleasant. I thoroughly enjoyed the vast range of local food.

The Waitui Beach Club is our go-to place and we love it. It is classy without being too sophisticated. The service is always impeccable and the people are genuinely friendly and there for you. The day starts with a bubbles over a delicious breakfast and only gets better if it can!! Actually it does with the canapés and drinks handed out at the pool!! A fantastic place to visit.

We received a wonderful greeting at the entrance. The foyer was beautifully decorated, and reception was welcoming. We were seated an introduced to a beautiful lady who would look after us, and she did this well. The food was awesome. Well done and the meats were tender. Loved the prawns and the sushi. Overall the foo was great. I would recommend the dinner to everyone.

Great hotel but don't use booking.com for taxis

The whole environment at Sofitel is wonderful, a very relaxing holiday. Including breakfast as part of the booking was excellent value. But the taxi booking through booking.com was useless. It was booking.com's error. Don't book taxis through booking.com.

Nice resort, beautiful Fijian staff (for the most part) but unfortunately capitalism is alive and well at the resort. Save your pennies as you will need them. I got hit with a $50 expense on check out for accidentally breaking a glass water bottle in my room. I’d placed the bottle in the fridge which fell over the flimsy door rail when I opened it, smashing glass all through the room. A kind gentleman from housekeeping cleaned up the glass and received a good tip for doing so. When I raised the $50 expense at checkout I was met with a blank stare and told I shouldn’t have placed the bottle in the fridge. Hello, it’s Fiji, it’s hot. The receptionist was unhelpful and certainly wasn’t interested in my concern. Just wanted the cash. I hope I don’t get hit with a fee next time my family accidentally breaks a glass at a restaurant or bar. It’s a cost of doing business and no doubt already baked into the price. Didn’t leave a good taste
