We were lucky enough to have the best room in the hotel room 306 the view over Biarritz beach were worth every penny.. Yes you pay for the view, but it’s probably the only time you’re going to be there…Just do it..

Stayed for one week, Hotel is beautiful art Deco design, clean,fresh,inviting, spacious rooms,everything you need is there, staff are absolutely incredible, warm,welcoming friendly, nothing is to much trouble, wonderful selection of breakfast items,& drinks available, great location for buses, beach & town .definitely recommend, & would stay again

Do not stay here on a hot day

If you are going to stay in the hotel, make sure you do not stay on a hot day, because the air-conditioning system in the Plaza Biarritz is not fit for purpose. The air-conditioning stopped working in my 11-year-old daughter’s room and she collapsed due to overheating during the night as the room got so hot. We had to rush her to the emergency hospital doctor’s at 6am. Thank goodness for the Air France crew who happened to be in hotel reception who have her some medication to help! At the time the hotel was full, the manager was very apologetic, who gave us one single camp bed, but we were not moved for the next night. Suffice to say, the air-conditioning stopped working again, and I got hardly any sleep. On the third night, they moved my wife and daughter to another room, but this time the air-conditioning in the first room (we had two rooms) stopped working. Most of the staff we spoke to, the maintenance and air-conditioning engineers (we saw them) all agreed that there was an issue with the air-conditioning. It seems guests at the hotel have a lot of problems. It was very clear to us that it is old and unstable, and needs replacing. What made our situation worse was the manager then offered to discount a third off one of the rooms for the duration of the stay, which we thought was fair considering we had practically no sleep at the hotel. However, it turned out he had lied to us, because as soon as we left, his boss overruled him, with a 15% off one night of one room offer. Eventually he relented and gave us 50% off just one night of one room, despite we had hardly slept because of the issues. His attitude was appalling, and he even told us we should be grateful that we had a bed! He behaved as though we were refuges, not guests paying a lot of money for a supposed four star hotel! He even claimed that he had spoken to my 11-year-old daughter and that she had told him she was fine. This I found extremely disturbing as he did no such thing. He did not speak to her and I question what made him claim this. The whole experience was appalling, and it seems that money is the driving practice with this hotel, with profit coming before guests. The manager’s emails all ignored the points I raised and the gaslighting from them was incredible - constantly trying to change the facts. I suspect there will be some sort of excuse reply from them below, but don't believe a word. We couldn’t wait to leave.

I am very disappointed in my recent stay at Hotel Plaza Biarritz Plage. First, we were unable to check-in early, which is fine, but they told us to come back at the normal check-in time of 3pm. By 3:30pm, our room was still not ready. Then when we were finally able to get into our room, which was advertised as a Deluxe Room with Ocean View, it was extremely disappointing to see that our room directly faced into another dilapidated hotel -- NOT an ocean view unless you opened the doors and craned your head around to see a sliver of water through buildings and a casino. The service was also bad. Cleaning staff did not take our dirty towels which were on the floor of our room, nor the dirty coffee cups and champagne glasses. They also left some cleaning supplies in our bathroom. It's clear they do not do checks of each room to ensure they have cleaned properly. While the overall hotel is cute and has a nice boutique vibe, it did not live up to the $550 USD per night that we paid.

Absolutely Devine stay at this hotel. Beautiful decor and the staff were so friendly, welcoming and helpful . The hotel is spotless and a few steps from the beautiful beach. The location is so central to all the shops, bars and restaurants. We had a fantastic stay and will 100% return.
