Hotel saved my family's city break.

We came here early Saturday morning due to rapid hotel change for city break in Barcelona. We almost did not sleep the previous night. At the arrival we were taken good care of, the stuff member explained what to do to be able to check in early. Overall reception did everything and above to help us. Hotel is super clean, rooms are completely sound proof with great view (We stayed at 14th floor). Bathroom could be renovated, I would prefer to have regular shower rather than "bathtub - shower". Breakfast offered is great. The location is good, walking distance to a lot of stuff and easy access to metro + plenty to do around with kids. There is a restaurant at top flow with swimming pool and great views. Its well priced so we recommend to pay a visit. The cons: Access cards happen to decode and you need to ask reception to change them, coffee at breakfast could be improved. A bottle of water a day to the room would be good - instead you just get one and it is not refilled later on. Overall the hotel saved my weekend trip so I highly recommend it. If we go to Barcelona again, we will book again at this hotel for sure.

1-Novotel gibi bir otelden odalara çıktığımız kartların her çıkıp indiğimizde, tekrardan güncellenmesi gibi temel bir teknolojik eksiklik beklemezdim. Ben ve benim gibi bir sürü konaklayanda bu konuda inanılmaz bir rahatsızlık duyduğuna tanık oldum. Asansöre kadar gidiyoruz, kartları okutuyoruz, Kartlar çalışmıyor diye resepsiyona geri dönüyoruz, aa çok pardon hemen halledelim diye sürekli aynı açıklamayı duyuyoruz. 4 gün konakladım ve günde iki kere her yukarı çıkmak istediğimde aynı şeyi yaşadım. Bir keresinde 17. Kata çıkmama müsade eden kart odamı açmadı, ve tekrar aşağı 17 kat inip yukarı çıkmak zorunda kaldım. Durumdan rahatsızlığımı dile getirdiğimde, yanıma bir personel verdiler, bu personel bana gelip yeni kartla kapıyı açmadan önce bana verdiği eski kartı denedi, aa, gerçekten açmıyormuş tavrıyla, geri aşağı indi. Yani benim söylemime inanmayıp bir de eski kartı denediler inanılmazdı. Yine 4 günde kartımın çalışmadığı günlerden birinde, bu sadece bana mı oluyor diye istan ettiğimde, hayır sadece size olmuyor efendim diğer konaklayanlara da oluyor, kart sistemimiz biraz eski ondan oluyor dedi. Novotel personelinden, evet kart sistemimiz eski ama üzerine çalışıyoruz bu durumu düzelteceğiz gibi bir açıklama beklerdim ama görüyorumki bir çözüm için de uğraşılmıyor. 2- son gün otelden ayrılırken pasaportumu odada unutmuşum. Havaalanına gittiğimde ve bunu fark ettiğimde, hızlıca taksite atlayıp otele taksi ile geri dönerken oteli aradım. Evet efendim, pasaportunuzu bulmuştuk, otelimizde dedi görevli. Novotel gibi profesyonel bir otelden, pasaportu bulur bulmaz beni aramasını beklerdim, uçağı ucu ucuna yakaladım çünkü. Ve otel görevlileri evet efendim pasaportunuz burada diye ben aradığımda bilgi vereceğine arayıp haber verebilirdi. Bu bir gözlük, kol saati , şapka gibi bir eşya değil çünkü bu bir PASAPORT. Ve sizde numaram olmasına rağmen beni aramayıp son dakika fark ettiğimde evet burada diyorsunuz. Daha önce niye aramadınız dediğimde ise hiç tatmin etmeyen cevaplar aldım. Evet konaklamamı tek kelime ile özetleyecek olursam “hayat kırıklığı” olacaktır.

Stayed somewhere with more professionalism! We stayed at last few days at the hotel: Certain thing need immediate improvement The members app- rates are advertised which cannot be booked- and one needs to check how much they are paying on check in as it did not match the booking, paid for breakfast which staff ignored and only agreed on once I showed the booking. The members app are requested to provide a list of “choices” prior to arrival Food choices Room choices Etc before arriving at the hotel- NOT 1 was even reviewed- waste of time- the staff at the hotel don’t receive or review this. The don’t care much about anything actually- they are not interested in the public at all. check in reception staff- checked us in nicely! Got our room right by the lift- which we requested otherwise- although we asked for otherwise- we left it. We got no info of breakfast times, bar hours, restaurant hour, gym location, pool details- even the room key was given to us in a standard envelope as they had no card holder- still didn’t complain. This is very unprofessional. We’re told by staff if we need anything to dial 9- as it also stated in the room on numerous mirrors- by just a word of warning don’t ask them anything they will attack- humiliate and verbally abuse you. room amenities are 100 lacking- the shower broke, the blind skirting fell, the shower roof has blue water stain marks all over, room lacks everything besides soap handwash and shampoo- everything else you need call 9! Basic amenities such as hand cream take 3 attempts to explain. Tissues are not provided. Shower caps need to be explained in code- we got given a bath plug instead. And here is the kicker- Coffee and tea are “provide” but maybe in our room they lacked to add it- including the blonde hair in the pillow which I ignored!, but milk is not provided. Phoning 9 gets you screamt at, by Cristian- why are you calling 9-it is reception? Um maybe cos it says so on your mirrors? Or your reception staff- or maybe as you don’t have a housekeeping button on your phone? Or maybe as you use a qr code to find out vital hit information. Didn’t your staff just ask for this a few minutes earlier to call 9 for anything? And your signs say the same! And then you are told to call housekeeping- but there is NO such button on the phone- and no card holder was provide with info- and the room info is as bland and ineffective! You are asked to pay 20 euros for milk by a”manager” named Cristian, who screams at clients, hurls abuse and threatens his staff, his manager of the hotel is still contacting us. He is in fact just a team leader whose supervisor arrived and continued the same reciprocal action. Still the same staff, and same manager- threaten there staff so they are not allowed to speak. Trying to call 9 4 times gets the phone slammed on you if you ask for anything as Cristian has a bad attitude- maybe he had a bad day. But starting a conversation with Why did you dial 9- call housekeeping is definitely not on. Upon going downstairs after being disconnected by the manager- Cristian, he screams that he will not help me- although I spoke to the lady who check us in calmly. If the reception staff talk they are screamt at and threatened by Cristian- who lies ! And then he threatens calling police on guests for incompetence! And then blaming the language barrier- what a joke! Another Scare tactics- calling the bouncer named Omar? Neither the police arrived, nor Omar did anything, which had they arrived- I would have opened a case on him myself for his ambitious attempt to hurl abuse at guests. Non the less- his manger/ supervisors is yet to resolve the issue. Attempting to speak to manipulation motivated money grabbing staff is both offensive and dangerous for your business. This is not the 1st attempt to scam patrons for money- ie our reservation had breakfast- we were asked to pay extra! I showed this upfront. They will also do not provide the details of the manager- Sonia- it is a well guarded secret. spotty intermittent internet- not strong enough to work on- it disconnects constantly one toilet in the lobby- the men’s one is damaged and everyone uses the women’s toilet- it isn’t very clean or sterile. Also people who ask if there is a place to change after checking out- are told to use this same toilet- leaving breakfast patrons sitting for a good 10 minutes waiting for a toilet. Surely a 4 star hotel can assist their patrons to allow them to use another toilet. no opening hours provided for the lounge in the reception-attempting to find out was not an option- the lady doesn’t speak English at all breakfast is the same foods daily- but was good and clean- sometimes lacked quantity on fuller occupancy days. Breakfast also make made to order eggs which is NOT advertised only the flight crew know this bar upstairs opening- closing no times provided bed was clean and comfortable- besides to blonde hair- towels were fresh and soaps provided were good quality. No extra blankets in the room. the hotel in contracted to numerous flight crews- and thus they don’t pay attention to individual patrons- they are very busy organising the crews and their needs and ignore and don’t care about others. It’s a pity as the hotel is in a good location and had the calibre to be better if the staff would have manners.

For this price you expect something else...

In general I love to stay at Accorr hotel, but our stay in the Novotel City Barcelona with my two kids was extremely disappointing. We arrived at the hotel at 12.00 and were well aware that the room would not be ready , so we left our suitcase in the hotel and advised that we would be back at 14.00. We had to wait for 2 more hours and then found out that the bed was not made up, which was only done in the evening. The room key fails to work in the elevator continuously ond we only stayed for one day.
