When you arrive at the airport after a delayed flight in the pouring rain at 23.00 it would have been helpful for the hotel to advise on their booking confirmation that the airport has scarce taxis who do not want to take you such a short journey, and that you need to phone the hotel directly to arrange a taxi Ubers refused to attend After doing so, ( as advised by another customer who had just found this out) and the hotel taxi failing to arrive , and the hotel no longer answering their phone myself and 2 daughters did indeed walk in the dark - about 20 minutes with luggage The hotel rooms are so basic, there is no kettle or hairdryer, 2 plastic glasses for 3 people and what I can only describe as a shower in a portaloo type structure This is the worst hotel I have ever had the misfortune to stay at and I will be asking the hotel for a refund

Terrible hotel. Save your money. Genuinely worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Bed rock solid piece of wood and bathroom smelt so strong of urine. Awful.

Hotel is close to the airport but not within easy walking distance (takes about 20 mins and not the entire route includes walkways) which would be fine but it’s not something you’d want to do late at night. I wish I knew the hotel organised shuttle transfers or I would have booked it (getting an uber or taxi from the airport itself was impossible). Rooms are ok, very dated however and bit depressing looking - like prison cells, but I guess it’s ok if you just need an overnight stay. But then, when the TV in the room only has VGA and Scart connection, there are rubber curtains and not a kettle in sight you know it is really old and basic. The worst thing however was the level of noise in the room i- very annoying and you can hear every time someone opens or closes the door outside, walks on the corridor as the floor creaks and when people are people talking. Couldn’t get a good night sleep and couldn’t fall asleep as every time someone woke me up with loud bang or loud talking. Breakfast however was quite nice and good you can get it from 4am for an early flight so that’s helpful. Croissants and pain au chocolat were delicious and staff is friendly and helpful.

However, we regret to hear that the walkability to the airport and your room experience did not meet your expectations. While our hotel is indeed close to the airport, we understand that the walking path may not be ideal for everyone, especially at night. For future convenience, we do offer a shuttle service starting at 4am until the last flight, which can be booked at a competitive rate. Regarding your room, we apologize for any discomfort the noise may have caused. Our rooms are designed to be functional and budget-friendly, and we take all feedback into consideration as we strive to improve our guest experience. We acknowledge that while our rooms are equipped with double-glazing to minimize noise, we also provide earplugs for added comfort. We hope you were able to appreciate the ease of access to Charleroi's historical centre and the convenience of our location near the airport, despite the aspects of your stay that were not to your satisfaction. Worst airport hotel

Firstly, before I wrote my experience of this place. I would like to inform that I complained more than two months ago and I am still waiting to receive an answer for the Manager of this property. Ibis Budget Charleroi is the worst experience at an airport hotel in my life. I came from a long trip, and I mentioned to the receptionist that I was looking for something quite and fresh. I didn’t ask for anything else. When I arrived to the room, I couldn’t breathe, because the room was really hot. The room was full of mosquitos and different kinds of insects. I was exhausted from my long trip that I didn’t have the energy to go downstairs to put a formal complaint. But of course, I woke up more than 10 times for this situation (heat, mosquitos + noise) I went for breakfast. I reserved a transfer with their reception staff, and as they informed, the transfer is 13 euros per room. I don’t know why I have to share a transportation with someone else + you charge 13 euros to each person for the taxi. 26 euros (2 people) for 5 minutes in taxi. I have better hotel experience in countries with less resources. Avoid this place if you can.

Great stay! Great Staff! A little pick-me up needed and lacks charm.

The staff were really friendly and efficient. Great check in, easy check out. There are vending machines but otherwise no Café as this is a budget hotel. I found the room to be ideal but without character or charm. Very basic and in some places a little dusty. Otherwise a great room for getting ready for work or flying for leisure. It was ideal as it is super close to the airport and the walk is scary at first but very easy to follow and pretty with sunrise. People usually are on that path so it isn't totally isolated but upon arrival at night it was quite difficult. There are specific buses which go to the hotel so be sure to check, thankfully I had a good bus driver who dropped me off at the hotel. This is not fault of the hotel, just a tip. I decided to give this hotel 3 stars because of the price of the room, I got a good deal because I booked early but would never pay more than £75 for the room. Also because of the smell in the shower, the drain must not have been cleaned properly. I did like how the shower was built and the room layout. Otherwise it was a great stay and I would go again.
