Needs a really good clean

Mould in the bathroom, smell of old stinky feet when hot water hits the drain in the shower, dust half an inch thick on skirting board, found when moving a bedside table to plug in a phone charger, "clean" towels smelt unclean. TV picture quality crap, "Smart TV" that requires a cable to use for Netflix carting from phone not available at 7:30pm from Reception ("Are you staying another night, we can get one for you for tomorrow")... "Clean" glasses looked filthy. Woke in the middle of the night to very sore itchy eye, turns out I got conjunctivitis, suspected from poorly laundered pillow cases... Breakfast was good, but not enough to make up for the other short-comings. Won't be back.

Classic old hotel. Fantastic location

Yes, this hotel is on the older side but it is in a fantastic location. Room service was great from Olims Bristro. Best of all they have pet friendly rooms with courtyards. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Walk to city centre, dog friendly parks & war memorial, also esooters ready for hire which makes exploring the city even easier.

The room was clean, warm and had what you need for a quick overnight business stay. Extra blankets available which is important in a Canberra winter! The furniture is a little dated but was serviceable and clean. Secure parking available in a private lot.

Friendly and helpful staff. Clean room, although we thought the bed was just a little hard. Breakfast was fine but perhaps the dining area a little small for such a large hotel. Would recommend you make a booking for their dinner area as this seems popular with the locals.

Disappointing stay

Rooms were disappointing. Aircon did not work well, had to set aircon at 29oC to get warmth. Breakfast offer was poor in range and quality. Staff had language problems but were pleasant in trying. Room rate was too high for room quality offered. Would not recommend this property to friends.
