Generally nice hotel with some plusses and minuses

The good: We had one of the so-called 'budget' rooms which was reasonably priced and quite cosy. I Some have complained about the decor of these rooms but I found it to be just fine. The less good: The room lacked basic amenities such as a kettle and a fridge and even air conditioning. It turns out that they have removed these from the budget rooms. It seems that in their point of view, 'budget' travellers are some kind of 2nd class citizens and don't deserve to be able to make a cup of tea or have a cold drink? Note that a lot of the rooms face the street, however the double-glazing kept the noise out. It might be a different story if it's summer time and you need to have the windows open. On the front desk we received a welcome that seemed rather formal. And the young woman who checked us out the next day was quite cold. I understand that you probably do get tired of seeing all of the tourists every day, but if you're tired of it, it might be time to look for a different job? In the lounge downstairs there is a small outside area with, which would be great to sit out in, but... no wait it seems like it is given over to smokers! We actually experienced the same in another hotel on Landstrasse. The limited outside seating is given to the smokers. I can understand that maybe 25 years ago, but in 2025? In spite of my criticisms, I liked the hotel well enough to consider returning. A recommendation on this area: If you like walking, instead of walking down the very commercial MariaHilferstrasse, try walking down the Stumpergasse (two streets down Mariahilfer, on the right). Lots of nice things here: a health food shop, a traditional pub, a thai restaurant, a pizza place, independent cafes, and more. Continue all the way down to the scenic Karl Pinz platz.

My overall experience in this hotel was good it was very clean and close by to transport so it was very easy to get round. Most the staff were friendly except for one guy Sunday late afternoon who singled me out just because I had a McDonald's bag. He started quizzing me like I didn't belong in that hotel trying to catch me out or something I thought made me confirm my room number and show him my room key. So that's the only thing stopping me from giving it 5 stars has never happened anywhere else I've stayed.

The staff was really nice, we could communicate with them easily and fluently. The rooms are also really good, and the location of the hotel too. We didn’t have the opportunity to try the restaurant. From my experience, I would 100% recommend

The hotel has a good location, near the metro, a street with many shopping facilities. Also nearby is a restaurant with Austrian cuisine, huge schnitzels and delicious beer. The hotel itself is a little tired, the rooms are not the first freshness but in excellent condition and clean, well equipped. The staff is polite and friendly.

From reception to checkout it was a great experience, the guys on the desk were professional and courteous, the room, a single room, was clean and functional, I stayed 3 nights only and servicing the room was offered each day. The room was warm, the tv with multiple channels in several European languages was in great condition. Location next door to Westbahnhof, tram and metro stops was superb and shops and supermarkets 3 minutes walk away. Would I stay again? Without a doubt. Stefan
