Very good value hotel in outskirts of Avignon, only a short drive from the city centre. Basic room with air conditioning. Room was clean and comfortable, with a supermarket and various other facilities nearby. Secure parking available. Would definitely stay again.

Poor hygienic procedure on breakfast / Aircon only heating in some rooms

Employees taking breakfast food (bread) with bare hands, including reception team. Having an affordable rate does not mean that they can relax on food handling procedures. We had to change the room because they just have aircon in some rooms. Mostly heating only.

When you travel and need to stay overnight close to the highway for a reasonable price you go to Ibis. This one was no exception. It is clean, has a parking place, people are friendly. Room is small as expected in this category and price range, but bed is very big.

The room we booked (two single beds) turned out to have three beds, was generously sized with a large bathroom and a hallway in which we were able to store the cycles behind a locked door. This made for a relaxed sleep, having cycled all day. The staff were friendly and helpful. On the downside breakfast lacked the chocopain which we found in other Ibis Budget hotels. Dinner was not available at the hotel and eventually we felt that the walk to local restaurants was too far to undertake and we didn't want to remount our bikes to get a meal. So we settled for an energy bar in our room, which was less than ideal. By far my biggest bugbear, as we discovered when arriving by cycle was that the hotel is very poorly signposted except from the main road that no cyclist would have considered using. There were a number of other reasonably price hotels in the locality, all of which were well sign-posted on local roads, but not the Ibis Budget Nord. We mentioned that it had taken us an age to pinpoint where the hotel actually was and to find a safe route to get to it. Better signage would certainly have helped. They were aware of the problem and told us that it was not the first time that cyclists had raised this issue with them. (Obviously, as the hotel is someway out of town, the vast majority of guests arrive by car or other motorized vehicle, so I guess this is not a priority for them. Against, the signage issue (irritating when you cannot find a place having cycled all day) as I have already explained the staff could not have been more accommodating once we arrived. It would have been a five star reveiw with better local signage.

The worst ibis we've been at. Bad service, bad smell and too expensive. We booked online. The add said: XL bed and XL shower. When we arrived, it was a normal bed, not even queen size. Same for the shower. When we went to reception to ask if it was a mistake, he told us that is was everything ok. All the rooms were same size as our, and that he didn't understand what XL means. The room also smelled bad, especially the bathroom. That is definitely not what you expect when paying 120€ per one night. Since we were going to stay there for one night, we calmed down and asked him for directions to get to Avignon by bus. He gave us the timetable at the photo, and wrote down "hotel" at our stop, "Le pontet centre". So we went to the city to enjoy a delightful evening at the Festival Avignon (That's the only thing we truly recommend). Later, at 00.00 am we decided to go back to the hotel just to realize the stop he told us to go down was 3,5 km away from the hotel. We had to walk a lot to get to the hotel crossing poorly illuminated roads and narrow tracks, with fast cars around. It was dangerous. Next morning, we told all mentioned to the lady at reception, who kindly apologised for everything. She used a marker to tell us which was the correct stop...7 stops away from the one he wrote! Warning: no elevator and a low quality breakfast buffet. Summarizing, NEVER EVER going back again.
