A rather decent value proposition for a well located, and decently upkept Sofitel. Rooms are on the smaller and older side but definitely still on the acceptable/decent side. Breakfast was decent too but perhaps not something worth paying for unless its included free or discounted under the accor plus programme. My one gripe was that the check-in and check-out process is expected to be self-service, and I did have to wait quite a long time for a staff member to address a different query I had. Perhaps a factor as to how the price is very reasonable

This was our first stay since the Hotel was renovated a few years ago. The Resturaunt, bar and club lounge on level 5 are all excellent.

Very happy with my stay. My room was ready early, so I didn't have to wait for the standard 3.00 pm check in. Great after a tedious flight, and transfer from airport. Also my request for a high, quiet room was noted and provided. Surprisingly the room was somewhat plain in colour, but very spacious. The king bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the linen of highest quality. An enormous new TV was on the wall. The bathroom was of normal size, and I noted a refurbishment had taken place. I had to report ( on 3 occasions ) that my aircon control panel was not working. I have to report that my request was expeditiously dealt with, and on the 3rd attempt the defect was eventually resolved.( especially so for the next occupant ). The only frustration is that the hotel continued to send out many emails prior to one staying regarding restaurants, getting one's key, and to fill out a two page pre check in form. Also there is a suggestion how to get your advance key. On arrival I had to resort to finding a real person, situated around a corner at the rear of the lobby. Albeit I had pre filled my check in pro forma.All was good. Overall though a very pleasant, convenient and comfortable stay for 3 nights.

We stayed here on our recent trip to Sydney. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. Bathroom was a bit pokey but overall a great place to stay very central if you’re in Sydney to sightsee. Has great places to eat and drink. A short walk to circular quay to get a ferry or walk to opera house or harbour bridge. Highly recommend a stay here. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

The Sofitel Sydney Wentworth offers a refined and elegant stay in the heart of the city, blending classic luxury with French-inspired hospitality. The suites are impressively spacious—ideal for travelers who appreciate room to relax or work. The separate living area, large windows, and plush furnishings create a comfortable and upscale atmosphere, making it feel more like a high-end apartment than a hotel room. Guests with Club Lounge access will appreciate the added level of comfort and exclusivity. The lounge offers a quiet space to unwind with light refreshments, evening canapés, and a solid breakfast spread. The staff in the Club Lounge are attentive and professional, often going out of their way to provide personalized service. However, the hotel does have its downsides. It’s an extremely busy property, often hosting conferences and events, which can make public areas feel crowded. One of the most noticeable drawbacks is the wait time for the lifts. At peak times, especially in the mornings or early evenings, the elevators are slow and often full—something to keep in mind if you’re on a tight schedule. The hotel is renowned for including tips in its bills. Tips are not part of Australian culture for the high pay rates staff earn. Despite the hustle and bustle, the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth remains a polished and conveniently located choice for both business and leisure travelers.
