Hotel room is large and comfortable, gentleman checking us in very pleasant. Location excellent for the lower town activities. Unfortunately there was a lot that let the overall experience down. Of 2 lifts, one was out of action the whole 3 days we were there even though the hotel was busy. The free internet was unavailable for a whole day - no explanation offered, when we enquired we were advised there was a problem . Having added on a 3rd night booking (prior to our travelling) when we went out the 3rd day we returned to the room (top floor, delays in getting lift) to find the access card had been de-activated, so had to wait several minutes trying to get a lift back down to reception. On returning to room, access to (the now restored) internet was again unavailable as unbeknown to us it had been deactivated with the original access card and the original passcode no longer worked, presumably the reception staff are not aware of this knock-on effect. On arrival at the hotel (we booked the more expensive privilege double room) there were 3 tea and 2 coffee sachets and 3 milk provided. Although later we asked for additional milk we were only allowed 2. The coffee we used on arrival was never replaced. Disappointingly the hotel only provides paper cups, which are not very practical for re-use. We did try to obtain a couple of cups at the breakfast area but were not allowed to take them out of the restaurant. There is a clear lack of communication by the staff to acknowledge known problems to make guests aware (out of order lift, internet issues, replacement access cards / internet codes). Unfortunately we found a number of the reception staff unfriendly and dismissive, which is a shame as a couple were very nice. We did try to address our concerns on-site with a manager / duty manager but were advised there wasn’t one on duty that day. Overall resulting in a poor experience of a hotel we thought was a good brand hence the rating given, however Bergamo is a very beautiful town and local staff in nearby restaurants are excellent. Enjoy.

Another once decent hotel chain ruined by Accor’s cost accountants. I’ve been used them for decades, but now only use if there is no reasonable alternative. I only booked because other friends in my party had already made reservations. Every trip reveals more mean penny pinching cuts. This time there were only paper coffee cups, a tiny towel, no toiletries, a tiny double bedroom. There was no WIFI for at least 24 hours, which was both inconvenient and expensive. It was still down when I was forced to check out early. Staff just said it had been reported and to use McDonalds or Starbucks, which were several minutes away. There were missing room numbers and arrows from signs opposite lifts on both the 3rd and 4th floors (possibly more). We were there for 3 days and we never saw the bar open.

Отель очень удачно расположен, красивое старинное здание, хорошая звукоизоляция номера. Но в нашем номере отрывалась ручка двери и никто не не ремонтировал. Но главное разочарование - это завтрак. Он хуже чем у 3-звездочных отелей! Отвратительный омлет из яичного порошка , ужасные, вредные, жирные жаренные бекон и сосиски, немного фруктов и очень много банальной выпечки и тортов. Это завтрак для тех, кто хочет испортить свое здоровье и заработать диабет и холестерин. НИ ОДНОГО полезного продукта!!! Накануне я завтракал в Милане в отеле 3 звёзды в другой сети, и даже там - был огромный выбор разных горячих блюд , и яйца были настоящие, а не из порошка, плюс были овощи на пару, крупы, и другие горячие блюда, а выпечка была не только сладкая, но и, например, пирог со шпинатом. Я ожидал, что в Mercure - будет ещё лучше, так он 4 звёзды, но оказалось всё наоборот. Я не смог ничего съесть кроме банана и уехал от них голодным. Также разочаровало их отношение к клиентам со статусом Gold. Нам не предложили вообще никакого апгрейда, и даже просто хороший вид из окна - пришлось буквально выпрашивать и потерял на этом 30 минут, так как первый номер дали с деревом перед окном и там совершенно не было ничего видно (хотя при заселении я попросил хороший вид из окна). В общем, кроме расположения - ничего хорошего.

If we are passing through Bergamo, we always like to stay at this hotel. Everything works well, location (near the station) is good and the rooms are everything you would wish for. This time it was clear at check-in that staffing numbers are insufficient and/or check-in processes are poor. It took us 25 minutes to check in and watching that 1 minute video on a loop whilst the receptionist was on an important call, situated behind the desk could drive anyone mad. Anyway, a disappointing introduction.
