Our junior suite was next to the elevators despite requesting a room far away from the elevators. The suite was not attractive, very dated with a domestic size fridge in the lounge area. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Lots of storage space. Waited 5 minutes to get hot water in the shower. Appalling hygiene in the bar area which provides the evening canapés and drinks for certain guests depending on their Accor status or room category. They need a sign stating, “PLEASE DO NOT EAT DIRECTLY FROM THE BAIN MARIE”. We witnessed a man using his fork to take food from the Bain Marie and eat it directly from the fork, which then went back into the Bain Marie for more food.In addition, children need to be prevented from touching the plates underneath the buffet food area. Put the plates out of their reach. It is disgusting to have a child touching numerous plates that must be used by other unsuspecting guests. They are not toys. We didn’t eat any more food after we saw these incidents

Comfortable Hotel when you are transiting Singapore

This is not a ‘flashy’ new Singapore Hotel but I find it very convenient when I transit overnight in Singapore. I have stayed overnight here 7-8 times a year for the past 3-4 years when my connecting flights require an overnight in Singapore. It is a short taxi ride from Changi which is convenient when catching early morning flights. East Coast road is at the rear of the hotel and is a road full of good restaurants and bars. Now the new MRT line is open, Marine Parade station is opposite the hotel thus providing easy transport throughout Singapore. The rooms are showing their age but as I said, it is only overnight. One thing that I do not like is the shower over the bath. I have to take extra care with my bad back but I can adjust! This was the normal bathroom design years ago when this hotel was built.

Very nice and simple people at this property. Very helpful and always smiling. Smooth check in with the FD Manager herself taking me to my room. Courteous. Nice Suite room with enough space. Separate living area, work desk and a small table with two chairs to sit and eat your meals. Nice lounge on the top floor with a view. Excellent choice of soft drinks, coffee and tea were placed along with cookies. Elite members were treated with drinks and canopies along with light snacks in the bar. Smoother check out. Very close to Changi airport. Excellent buffett breakfast spread. Masala chai was missing. Overall a nice stay and definite return to this property while visiting Singapore again.

First: Amazing staff: friendly and helpful for sure, so NO complaints here. The hotel itself has very little personality, it's ' practical': there's a lot of come and go movement of business people or off shore workers and so on. This is a thing one notices at the breakfast room: ( which is okay, but again: very standard and practical): you arrive, you eat, you go! The atmosphere does not invite you to linger too long. The hotel's location is great: easy access to SMART system, huge shopping mall across the street and around the corner, enough food stalls as well. So no complaints here either. The room was great as well, spacious and veeeery comfortable. So no complaints here either. But ( did you feel this one coming?), the hallways are quiet noisy: several aircrew are staying here, so there's a come and go at the most odd hours and of course housekeeping needs to.prepare there rooms. There's some sort of an echo in the hallways which makes every conversation and movement sounds 10 times louder. ThIs was actually my only complaint. But again: my gratitude and thanks to the staff. I like the Accor chain as one can almost find a hotel everywhere you go. They offer a variety of hotels geared to your needs and budget. But there's something about the Mercure hotels: it's not that they are " bad" but whenever staying with them, there's always something I am missing... Was this value for what I paid for: not really. Again did not have a bad stay but missed a ' je ne sais quoi!"
