Hotel was exactly as expected it’s a 2 star property It has easy parking Reception and bar clean and tidy Room as photos on website. Standard double bed Tea and coffee provided but the paper cups aren’t great. Shower heat and pressure very good.

a bit too expensive for the conditions it offers, also compared to other IBIS hotels this one looks quite poor

Liked: - nice location (close to the mall, mcdonalds, bus&railway station) - staff is nice and friendly Disliked - rooms and bathrooms look like from the early 2000's, need renovation -there is only one tiny trash can in a double room - uncomfortable pillows - no fridge in the room - sounds silky but door to the room are very heavy to open

Pillows, are a matter of personal likes or dislikes. We do have "Sweet beds" and we are loved for that. I wish you Happy New Year and many journeys around the World :)

Don’t expect much, except good location

This is a basic IBIS hotel, one would expected! However, conventionally located in the center of the city. Rooms are small but ok, bath very basic. My room was facing a gas station. Breakfast was good with sufficient choices, I liked the breads and the cakes! Coffee machine takes forever and one have to queue! Therefore, I found it rather surprising that the hotel staff get their coffee during the breakfast hours too and don’t care that this means even longer waiting time for the guests. We had there our lunch, typical Polish dishes once. The food was very yummy! One need to book the lunch in advance! My room was very dusty and bath dirty and floor covered in hair.! I mentioned this at the desk and got a very saucy response that “sometimes the hair do not stick to the mop” - that left me speechless! Another day,I asked a senior staff if my room could be vacuumed (I addressed her in English as most of the staff speaks English well, and my Polish is rather poor]. She snapped at me that I have to speak Polish with her! I got literally scolded for not speaking Polish! That person remained every hostile during my whole stay! I wasn’t even greeted! Absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable behavior! Many of the staff members are very friendly (e.g. the young man or the young lady at the desk) but many are super unfriendly and simple give a sh... whether the guests feel welcomed e.g. This is something for the management to look into.

Dear Elisabeth, Thank You for the comment regarding the stay at Ibis Zabrze. I am more than happy, that You liked our breakfast and dinner and the services provided by most of our staff. Our restaurant is not a big one, and sometimes there are queues to coffee machine, as there is no place to place another one. My staff is using it at different times, and I am sorry to hear that You had to wait while they were preparing one. In regards to the room cleanliness, we are always doing our best to keep it clean. I know from my housekeeping manager that You spoke with her just outside your room. She is one of those people, who is non english speaking person. In order to understand you, she asked You to speak polish, as she knew that You spoke in that language with your parents. There was nothing hostile in that. I am very sorry that you have felt that way, and I apologize for it. Once again I thank you for all of the comments, and I believe that the next time You would visit us we will avoid misunderstanding of each other. Keep safe and see You soon. Very nice hotel in a great location. Good bar and decent food too. Small menu but great Chef. The staff as I said make the hotel a home from home for me. Always a lovely smiling face to welcome after a hard days work and nothing is too much to ask.

I stayed in Ibis between 20 and 23 of August, The room was clean. Needs some attention to wear and tear. The only comment I have is that before my arrival I was asked by email to respect local public health guidelines which I did. At the reception I was asked to fill in a declaration that I am healthy. However, the staff did not follow the same guidelines which left me upset, angry and uncomfortable. Despite the requirement to wear a mask in the public areas of the hotel, the afternoon/night shift staff did not adhere to this. Also, the same staff did not ask newly arrived to wear masks in the reception/lobby area. It was clear that only the morning shift staff had some understanding of public health guidelines.
