Outstanding service, perfect location, beautiful room. I can't say enough, but what really made my stay was the staff - from the doorman, to reception, concierge, service staff, literally everyone was so friendly and charming. Location is perfect - everything that I was after was in walking distance, and of course the Piccadilly tube station is just up the street. I booked a premium luxury with a view, but it wasn't the view of Waterloo Place that made it special, it was the ceilings in my room that had to be 16 feet high, and the fabulous bathtub. Sadly I only had one night, but it felt like more. Dinner at the Bistro was fantastic, and the rabbit was out of this world - I wish I could have finished it all! Had a hiccup at breakfast the next day with my order, but it was immediately rectified, so no issues there - again, all down to the excellent staff. Would not hesitate to recommend, and cannot wait to return.

Last stop of our year end holidays in Europe from Asia to celebrate our wedding anniversary & my wife’s birthday. Helpful recommendations from knowledgeable concierge Marus on F&B place. Wonderful gesture by FO Mgr Marine in extending a late checkout allowed us to enjoy London even more on our last day before our long flight back at night.

Tragically wasn’t staying here on this occasion but couldn’t resist dropping in for cocktails at the bar. Still the best cocktails in London in my opinion, with a lovely relaxed vibe. Great service and you always feel special as a guest. Will be returning to stay in the New Year and can’t wait.

We LOVED our stay! The service was next level from the moment you arrive at the front till the very end when you leave. The location was central to, easy to get to anywhere. The hotel was clean, welcoming and grand. Efficiency, punctuality & friendliness are hallmarks of their service. It was my little girls first UK trip and out of all the hotels we had stayed, this was by far the most welcoming and friendly towards children. As a 5 star hotel with such a high class status, it's often a little nerve wracking for parents bringing their children worrying they won't be very welcomed. But my goodness, I was very impressed with Sofitel London St James. She was treated like royalty everywhere she went. Her first Halloween Trick or Treating was at the hotel as they had organised an event for children, and she had a blast! She was taken to every department of the hotel to do her "trick or treat" round and she was spoilt with lollies and cuddles. It was quiet emotional as a parent to see. If we didn't have to leave to go home, we surely would have loved to stay longer. But we have found our place to stay when we return to London!! I usually name out staff who had gone above and beyond during our stay, but everyone and I mean EVERYONE went above and beyond for us, l couldn't name them all or l'd be asking for the whole staff list! Again thank you to everyone at Sofitel London St James! I couldn't have picked a better place to stay!

Had a spa experience and afternoon tea with a friend. My facial was not as expected, very basic and delivered with no care and attention to my needs. The treatment was below standard for an establishment of this calibre. Very disappointing. The afternoon tea was lovely.
