Positives - Comfortable bed & pillows, Cheap parking. Negatives - Weird smell in room, air con and sink tap smelled of sewage when using, Room looking very tired, knocking sound coming from upstairs every night, noisy hotel & the door very heavy to open. Ok for the price we paid, but won’t be staying again.

Having used here several times before this was our most disappointing stay Staff lovely and cannot fault. Parking and location fantastic along with the price however our toilets stank of sewage.. Then my mother had to change room as she had no heating to then go to another room and no heating there either. Staff did give them a small heater which did the job! Rooms look tired. No place to put your kettle so you had to make the tea on the floor and use the bedside cabinet that wasn't stable. I would go again if it was just my husband and I but not with my family and pay a bit extra to stay with them

Good location, disappointing hotel.

Stayed here on New Year’s Eve, the room cost £140 and was not worth it in our opinion. The location (2 minutes walking distance from the Albert dock) is the best thing about this hotel. The room had a strange smell but appeared clean enough with all the basic amenities you would expect. We did not request but were given an accessible room. These rooms have emergency pull chords in them. The chord had a knot in it and did not touch the floor- therefore if a disabled person had a fall in the bathroom, they may be unable to reach the pull chord. This is obviously totally unacceptable. Loud music was being played in the room next to ours from 6pm onwards- this did not stop until 8.30pm. We were woken up at 4am by extremely loud guests singing and shouting in the corridors- this is somewhat understandable as it was NYE however it took over 20 minutes for hotel staff to remove the noisy guests. We would not choose to stay here again as we were pretty disappointed and did not sleep well.

Doggy Friendly Hotel To The Extreme And Unacceptable Level

Stayed at this hotel during last few days with friends. Have stayed at the hotel on several previous occasions in recent years. Great location and friendly staff. Staff have done a good job dressing the reception area for Christmas making the hotel warm and welcoming. Breakfast is basic but ok. On site parking is very useful. Room was looking a little tired. The heater did not work properly so room was too cold for me but after reporting to Reception maintenance resolved the issue with the heater. Bed this time was very hard impacting sleep quality. Significantly, I hadn't realised that the hotel now was dog friendly. For someone who is afraid of dogs this is a big no no! Noticed 5/6 dogs during our stay with their owners and all seemed to be staying on different floors? Suggested to me that there were no dedicated room for guests with dogs. I did ask Reception about this and they were surprised by the question and gave me the impression that there were NO DEDICATED rooms for dog owners and their dogs. Not hygienic and unacceptable surely for non-dog guests like me. I actually complained to Reception about dogs being allowed to accompany their owners in the breakfast room. One owner was walking his dog around the buffet counter while collecting his food, patting his dog in the process. The Receptionist agreed with me that it was not acceptable but did nothing about it. Come on IBIS this is surely unhygienic and unacceptable practice to your guests regardless of if there dog owners. Standards have slipped and won't be staying here again!

Helpful and approachable staff. Good to have parking available (at a reasonable cost). Rather difficult to get the room temperature to an acceptable level because of the location of the heater unit
