We visited Berlin for my husband's 65th birthday in December. This hotel is very conveniently located for all the sights. Hotel room was large and clean. Very quiet. Bed was very comfortable. We walked into the centre and felt very safe walking back to the hotel at night. There is a restaurant and cafe in the same road which is very convenient (and a McDonald's round the corner!). We didn't really interact with the staff but came back to a birthday card and cake which was a lovely gesture. So highly recommend.

This hotel was great for us. We travelled to celebrate new year with our 13 year old son and had a great time. The room was big with lots of space. The bathroom and toilet were very clean and well looked after. Our room was cleaned and we were left with fresh towels each day. The room was lovely and warm which was really nice after a long day in the cold. The hotel is just around the corner from checkpoint Charlie with shops also near by. This was a great spot to stay in Berlin and was central to the centre so easy to see the sights. We would visit this hotel again and recommend

No Air Conditioning - Do not book this hotel unless you like sleeping in a sauna

We checked in late last night after a full day of travelling. It is so warm we could not sleep without constantly waking up from the heat. AC set to max. This morning reception came up and agreed we need to move. Fine we pack up and take us to a smaller room by mistake so we go back and wait for them to find a similar room. Eventually they call to tell us that the AC has been turned off in the entire hotel (because it is winter-its October and it is currently 20c/71f degrees today) No point in moving so we unpack again and by this time we have missed breakfast and morning shot. So now we have a fan and can open window with no screen but still hot. Unfortunately we booked and paid in advance so not going to ruin the rest of our trip trying to call Expedia and move to another hotel . This is our first time in Berlin and we would never book this hotel again.

Management fixed unfortunate incident speedily and correctly

When things go slightly wrong, you will see the quality of management and senior staff. I booked this hotel late due to unexpected circumstances, but found reception staff super helpful, the rooms large and practical and the location ok. One staff member clearly overstepped the mark with me - and I believe a few other customers - but it was dealt with speedily and courteously to the credit of management and other staff members.

AVOID and Book elsewhere On arrival at 3pm (check-in time) we were informed that the room was not ready yet (very sorry here is a drink voucher) and that it would be 20 minutes. with this information we decided to wait the short 20 minutes so we could freshen up before heading out to explore Berlin. at 3.20pm I approached the front desk again to be informed that the room was not yet ready but would be ready in 20 minutes!!! This was not acceptable given my Accor Gold status, prior registration informing the hotel we would arrive at 3pm and the continued delays. If we were just informed at the start that the room would take 40+ minutes we would not have waited and just headed out to enjoy our holiday. Things got worse from here.... After asking to speak to the General Manager a gentleman informed us that our room was not ready but they could offer us a different room that was "exactly the same, including the same size however didn't have a kitchen" This was perfectly acceptable to us given we were not planning on using the kitchen during our 3 night stay, however had booked the room for the space it offered. after a further 15 minutes of tapping away at the computer room keys were provided and we left for our room. on walking into the newly assigned room it was immediately obvious to me that this room could not have possibly been what we had book. it was just a standard hotel room without any of the pictured amenities of the room we had booked and paid for and about 1/3 the size. The lie about the newly assigned room was worse than just being honest that we would have to wait for what we had booked. it felt like they were just trying to pull one over us. on returning to reception to inform them our displeasure of the assigned room, we were informed that our original room was now ready. after a further 15 minutes of tapping away at the computer room new keys were provided. we took the lift to the top floor to discover the lift didn't go to our floor and we would have to drag our bags up the stairs to reach our room with no offer of assistance from the staff. If some rooms can only be accessed by stairs this should be informed at time of booking. Staff were most unhelpful and we would never plan to return to this hotel
