Good for a short stay

The hotel is clean, tidy and has all you need for a short stay. The continental breakfast is very simple yet adequate, but not sure it’s worth $30 per head. There was no hot water for three mornings in a row, besides colleagues and myself letting reception know every day. Got used to cold showers!

We stayed on 21st APR night at ibis Wellington. Reception lady staff was too bad attitude and with no polite and no hospitality. I advice you "ibis head office", You should train your staff more for improvement! For your reputation. This problem is only ibis Wellington, or whole your hotels?

Stayed overnight (Thurs) for a work trip. Have stayed here a few times over the years, it's a budget hotel and a little cosmetically dated in some of the rooms, but the location was convenient, staff were friendly and helpful the price suits my employers. The bed was comfortable, room clean and tidy and importantly the shower was good. Breakfast was available in the hotel and the food was good with plenty of options to choose from. I would definitely be happy with a return stay.

This hotel is located in a good central position in Wellington not from the waterfront and train station. Check in was quick and straightforward, room was basic but clean and of good quality. We had 2 doubles which was a nice surprise in a twin room. Would stay here again if in Wellington

A solid hotel with the best location in the city

Having spent 17 nights here, i feel i know the hotel fairly well. The location is the best in the city. The excellent airport bus drops you on Lambton Quay, one block over, a 2 minute walk from the hotel ( get off at Panama Street ). The bus operates every 15 minutes, and takes 30 minutes. It’s NZD 6.00, and you pay the driver, either in cash, or by credit card. Also on Lambton is a terrific Countdown Supermarket - again, only 3 minutes walk. Next to the supermarket is the cable car that takes you to the botanical garden. In the other direction, you are only a 5 minute walk from the waterfront, and a 10 minute walk from the Te Papa, national heritage museum, admission free, and on the waterfront. If you exit the hotel to your right, you are only a 10 minute walk to the train station, and likewise, a 10 minute walk to the “Beehive”, which is the house of parliament. You can take 1-hour, free, guided tours of the latter - make a reservation online. Breakfast at the hotel is not exceptional, but perfectly adequate. The supervisor, Alice, does a great job, and overall, the staff was very sweet. All my experiences with the reception staff were positive, and Jordine, in particular, was extremely customer-oriented. Overall, this is a very solid hotel, and were i to return, this is where I would stay.
