Frighteningly incompetent front desk service

Usually I am very satisfied with the service and location of Ibis hotels. But the front desk service at Ibis Louvain-la-Neuve was frighteningly incompetent. The person gave me the key for my room - but when I walked in there was already someone there! We (me a woman, him a half-undressed man) were unpleasantly surprised, to put it mildly. The front desk person changed my room (with no apology except to mumble she was 'overworked' despite the hotel appearing to be half-empty), but I spent the rest of my two-day stay worried someone would unexpectedly walk into my room. The restaurant staff were friendlier; at least they were genuinely apologetic when they accidentally overcharged my meal. The location was surprisingly inconvenient: a good 15-minutes walk from the train station and main attractions (e.g. Herge museum) through a poorly-lit park, which I did not feel comfortable walking alone after dark. And to top it off, the coffee machine in the lobby never worked when we were there, which was especially inconvenient since there was no kettle or other amenity in the room. I would definitely not recommend this location. It was my only negative experience compared to about 10 other Ibis hotels where I have stayed in the past couple years.

Ok hotel, but without airconditioning

A decent hotel with modern rooms and friendly personnel. Breakfast is okay (positive point that you can press your own juice, but negative point that meat and cheese isn’t replenished often enough). The main drawback of the hotel is that it isn’t equiped with airconditioning, so during summer nights the rooms can get very hot….

Very basic 3star

Stayed here for F1 grand prix , not the best place. Not overly clean and a funny smell in the room as though drains were blocked.Food and drink over priced Rooms basic, no safe no air-conditioning no kettle . Bed and pillows not comfortable at all. Had to walk through a dark wooded path area to get into town wasn't the best. Stayed in 3 star hotels before and alot better.

Stayed here to go to the f1 race . It’s a ok hotel. Bed was comfortable , black out blinds were great. No kettle in the room to make a drink but you could go down to the lobby to have one . Extractor Fan wasn’t working in the bath room . The key card to get in the room went wrong twice . Breakfast was good . Good choice.

Nice hotel on the outskirts of town

The hotel is easy to find and has a very large car park. The staff are very friendly and polite, although the poor man serving in the restaurant was very stressed as he was on his own and it was quite busy. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable and ours also had a balcony. The restaurant serves good quality food at reasonable prices.
