We booked a weekend away for my partners birthday. She’d always wanted to visit Paris and although we did a lot while there we decided to choose a budget hotel as it was only a bed for the night. We chose a branded hotel as they have brand standards so we expected basic, but what we had was disgraceful. The room (639)was a disabled room (which is fine) There was mould on the walls. Ripped curtains Stained curtains A large single bed and not a double Air con/heating didn’t work. No fresh air ventilation Broken bathroom extractor Poorly fitted ceiling tiles No bathroom extract air movement No toilet brush No shower curtain Wrong toilet cistern Toilet flush didn’t stop running so had to be isolated. Water damaged shower door Damaged laminate flooring Curtains didn’t cover the window so no privacy These aren’t new issues. It’s taken time for this room to fall into disrepair and no effort was taken to rectify them. The general manager,housekeeping and maintenance teams obviously don’t care.

We booked the hotel since we have stayed ibis on our previous tours, but when we read some of the reviews we were worried what might be in store for us. Contrary to the reviews we got Good cozy clean room. Though other ibis hotels have more facilities. This one has basic utilities hair dryer, towels, paper cups instead of glasses. The staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good...typical of what we get in the Europe fruit juices, cold cuts,bacon croissants, varied cheeses, scrambled eggs, fruits, tea coffee etc The rooms were cleaned daily. Fresh towels provided daily by the housekeeping staff. There are three accesses to the entrance. The walking access through the lift is a not great ...the lift stairs have a urine stench. But you can use the access used by the vehicles and walk it up. Overall a good experience.

Good value for the price. Not perfect but it was fine for our needs

No amount of looking on Google maps could help us find the best way to get to the front door of our hotel. It seemed to be on top of a multi-storey car park. Two small hills, akin to Alpe d’Huez (one for you cycling fans), finally brought us breathlessly to reception. Chaos (of the disorganised variety) as one of the computers at Reception wasn’t working. We had a long wait to be seen but, in fairness, they couldn’t apologise enough and even offered us some hot beverages. The hot chocolate I plumped for was amazing. Our room was on the small side but all we ever need is a clean bed and a decent shower. The room was fine. The bathroom was an interesting configuration, to say the least. To get to the toilet, you have to open the door and step up into the shower so you could close the door behind you and then step down to get access to the toilet and sink. The shower itself wasn’t designed for anyone over 6 feet tall but I worked around that. A bit of a squeeze but a small price to pay. Everything was clean. There wasn’t a lot of wardrobe space and the room’s TV was placed in front of it, a rather bizarre location for it. But we made it all work. My only real complaint was that instead of one mattress on the bed, it was two single mattresses on top of each other. When I turned over in my sleep, I took the top mattress with me and it slid off the second one, causing me to fall on the floor.

No room cleaning after 12pm for 6 days!

In my European Tour, I book 4 Ibis hotels in 4 country, and I rank this hotel last. As an All Accor Status member, upon check-in, Status members get a welcome drink. All other 3 Ibis I was before, they gave a complementary drink to my wife also, which she enjoyed. However in this Ibis, they told her she is not a Status Member, so she won't get anything. Such a petty action towards a Status Member's wife who was going to stay in the hotel for 5 nights. It seems they are happy they harm customer loyalty for a 5 Euro drink (and you have paid Thousands to stay there). The hotel itself, location and staff were all generally great. However, I had a major issue concerning room cleaning. This Ibis prouds itself for having 700 rooms, but they only do room cleaning between 8am to 12pm. As it was the last leg of my European Tour, I usually slept late and wake late. And leave the room at 12pm to go around. Day 0: Check in Day 1: Reception reluctantly agreed to send room cleaning in the afternoon Day 2: Room cleaning was not done, and Reception did not send room cleaning when requested Day 3: Reception told me they do not do room cleaning after 12pm in a 700 rooms hotel and refused to send cleaning service Day 4: The cleaning lady opened the door while I was still sleeping, then she had a major argument with me (I speak French, but she has a poor level of French) - she tells me that she cannot go home because she has to wait for me to leave the room. I informed reception, and FORTUNATELY the Floor Manager and Security came fast to address the issue. Cleaning was then done. But I had to stay there during the cleaning process, as I was worried the angry cleaning lady could do some harm in the room. Day 5: No cleaning was done as I left the room after 12pm Day 6: I check out, with room cleaning done only 2 days during 5 days period. I am still scratching my head how does a 700 room hotel cleans only in the morning and don't have afternoon cleaning staff.

It is not luxury accommodation but I think some reviewers may be a little harsh. It is hotel designed for people who just need a bed for the night. You are not going to want to spend much time hanging around. The room may be small but that hardly matters when you are asleep. I certainly found the bed comfortable. Again bathroom is small but no real complaint. The shower was good, though it is a little slippery if you are not sure on your feet. A rubber mat would be helpful. Breakfast was good but on two mornings the dining room was very busy. Just before the Paralympics may have contributed but I feel that when the hotel is full - and there are a lot of rooms - it may be something that could be repeated. Staff were generally friendly but one complaint is that I was in a large school group. We left for a night and checked back in again but weren't able to leave our main bags behind anywhere. Having said that, on the final morning, we checked out but were allowed to leave our bags until later when we went to the airport so I am not quite sure why it couldn't have happened overnight. It is not in a tourist area but there are plenty of restaurants close by and 10 minutes walk from the Metro.
