A lovely stay and a brilliant stay member called Amoon.

We stayed last weekend and were greeted by Amoon, she was very friendly, welcoming and accommodating towards us. Amoon is an asset to the company and brilliant at her job. It was a lovely stay and we were happy with the room, very spacious. The only negative was the shower was very slow draining and the heater wasn’t working in the room to the right as you walk in the main door but it didn’t spoil or affect our stay. The breakfast and coffee was enjoyable and the staff were efficient and always on top of it. We would definitely staff again. Hopefully see you next year.

Stayed at the Ibis South, Coventry for the 1st time having stayed in an Ibis near York. Unfortunately the 2 places near no comparisons and as we drove up to the electric gates, my heart sank looking at the very shabby and run down premises. Everything appeared of the most basic quality. The room was cold and felt damp. Most of the facilities were there ie: kettle and cups, but no fridge & no biscuits. The bed had a very thin duvet in it that felt like a summer one. The bed was very hard and felt like there was no mattress, just a topper. The carpet was filthy dirty and needed replacing urgently. Went to breakfast quite early (8am) but again, everything on offer was of the most basic quality. The cooked food was un-eatable as it was stone cold; just try & enjoy eating soggy, cold bacon & sausages! Then to cap it all when leaving the room I cut my finger quite deeply on a sharp screw by the door handle. When informing staff about this so it could be fixed & no-one else hurt themselves, the response was “oh dear” and the staff member carried on typing. Although we will be making regular trips to Coventry in future, we won’t ever return as it just isn’t worth the money. I’d much rather pay for a Premier Inn/Travelodge room as the standard is much, much better and this tells you everything. PS: we haven’t stopped itching since our stay!

I booked my stay in advance and contacted the hotel twice (4th and 10th September) to ask about hypoallergenic bedding due to my asthma and allergies. I received no reply at all. On arrival, I was told they had no such bedding and that my emails were “not received” – yet the hotel managed to respond to my request only on my check-in date, which makes no sense. I was then told I could cancel free of charge, but this was last minute, when prices at other hotels were much higher and availability was limited. I felt I had no choice but to stay, despite it being unsuitable for my health needs. The situation caused me unnecessary stress and frustration, and although I was promised a call back from a manager, no one has contacted me to this day. Very poor communication, lack of care for guests with health needs, and zero accountability. I expected far better from Ibis.

Looks good, nicely refurbished, however note this is a “motel”, rooms are separate from restaurant and reception. This is a budget motel!! Had to move rooms after night 1 due to a “Serious electrical issue”, I think they could not reset the breaker. Service of room was sloppy! Tea & coffee thrown onto tray, dirty glasses left there, bed not made / refreshed. Towel hooks in bathroom waste of time, too small, kept falling off. Only one bath towel per guest, no hand towel. Bulk body soap on shower floor, no wall fixings…….. some real basic irritations. Auto security gates at entrance a positive.
