zero flexibility and zero understanding

I made a reservation on Monday the 10th of July with the intention of reserving a room with a check in date of the 20th of July and check out on the 21st. I will arrive in Paris on Thursday afternoon and on Friday morning at 9 o'clock I will take a bus to Lyon. Due to a personal mistake, I booked the wrong room with a check-in date of July 21 and check-out on the 22nd. I tried my best to change the room without losing the entire amount paid for the reservation. Unfortunately I was not given any chance. So, my first ever experience in France and even more so my first experience with the Ibis brand, I can say that it is terrible and without any understanding for the customer and it will definitely be my last experience with the Ibis brand. I fully accept the mistake, but I am extremely disappointed by the lack of respect and understanding on the part of Ibis. I hope that no one has to go through this experience. It must be taken into account that any customer mistake will be charged by this hotel.

This was my fourth time in Paris. Stayed three days with my 12 year old son. The purpose of the trip was to see the football match PSG-Rennes. We bought the whole trip (plane tickets, hotel, PSG-Rennes tickets) from a bureau. So I was a little curious about the hotel and the area, since I didn’t do much research prior to our trip. The room (442) was a modern room. It was spotlessly clean. A room with a view over the Seine. We could se the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame from our window. Check in and check out very smooth. The check in at IBIS budget is at ground level and the IBIS check in is on the first floor. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The Wi-Fi was free but the connection was a little sluggish at times. Nice big TV. The hotel is (according to Google maps) 1,4 km away from the metro station Liberté. You can catch the bus 24 right outside the hotel. However getting back by bus in the evening isn’t the most easy way as it runs less frequently than the metro. There is a shopping centre right next to the hotel. You can find a Carrefour, Subway (sandwich place), pharmacy and so on. We didn’t eat at the hotel, but there is a restaurant you can choose for breakfast or dinner. We did see a lot of homeless people in the neighbourhood but the area felt quite safe. If you’re visiting Paris and the Bercy area is of importance or relevance for your stay I would recommend the hotel. If you are visiting Paris and want to see the main tourist attractions the I would choose a more central area.

Terrible customer service

We were coming to Paris for only 1 weekend and had to organize everything smartly. Ibis Porte de Bercy customer service has told us via the app that we can check in before 12 for additional costs (which we were ready to do). However, upon the arrival, such an option was not possible so we had to wander around for 4 hours. At 1pm we were back at the hotel and were dreaming about finally taking a shower and changing, however, again they did not have a room yet. If you value your time, and want to spend time in Paris and not the hotel lobby, do NOT choose Ibis Paris Porte de Bercy.

Very poorly maintained room, broken shower and empty soap dispenser in shower. Staff not aware of the privileges and benefits of Accor members. Welcome drink was not offered until asked. Very disappointed
