Poor standard of room for the Ibis chain

For a major international chain, this Ibis really comes well below expectations. Good location next to Fès station and the hotel has a nice looking garden with swimming pool (not used) Reception area was OK. However once up on the floor you could see this the poor standards of housekeeping with dirty carpet in the corridor etc. The room was a real let down. Poor standard of cleanliness. Quite cramped. Bed mattress very firm. Bathroom was a discrace. Botched up repairs to what probably started off as a nice tiled room. No glass or cup for brushing teeth etc. The hand soap dispenser was broken. Only way to use it was by unscrewing the top and allowing some liquid soap to drip on your hands. Breakfast was OK and similar to the other Ibis I stayed in Morocco. However again cleanliness around the coffee machines showed a lack of care.

Nice old hotel in the city center of fes. Very close to train station. Nice and friendly personnel. I love the old fashioned elevator. Beautiful garden and nice pool. No free bottled water. The bed smell cleaned chlorine wash musty bedsheet.

It was a great experience that I stayed at ibis fes. The reception was so friendly and the gave me a nice room on the pool Also the weather was nice and sunny I have enjoyed the swimming pool The restaurant was also cool and the staff was so nice and friendly

This Ibis is right next to the train station at Fes, but unfortunately this means you are a couple of miles from the old medina and it is therefore either a long walk or cheap taxi ride. A taxi ride one way should cost about 10 Dh if the taxi has a meter. There isn't much in the vicinity apart from a few local shops and basic cafes, (although there was a good cafe actually in the train station which gave you a good view of Fes from its terrace). The rooms do need updating but are not too bad. The staff were quite pleasant and breakfast was fine.

Cannot recommend, bad stay

The only positive note that I can make about this hotel is the location. If you arrive/depart by a train, then it is quite convenient. Other than that, I can’t recommend this hotel. It looked and felt very run down, without a proper maintenance. My room (the standard room) only had 3 wire hangers, the bathroom had broken hooks, reminders of the cheapest repairs everywhere, and the water drain in the shower was clogged, TV channels quality reception looked like in 1970s, there was no hot water one morning. Walls are thin, noise travels quite a lot. My room faced the common area next to the pool with tables and chairs. Some guests strangely decided to sit there and socialize at 2 am at night, and of course I could hear everything. Breakfast was more or less average, but many dishes were cold. It was not my first stay at Ibis property. But it was the worst. Stay away.
