Disappointing. Very basic for a four star. Tiny room (319) and I was woken up at 5am with a really strong smell of baking which was unpleasant. Breakfast was not great. A few Staff nearby chatting who had ignored the fact much of the food had run out so there was a long wait to get this sorted. Very diy with drinks machines etc I’ll not stay here again.

Brilliant location. Parking available but it is a bit tricky if underground, but we managed it with BMW estate. Very clean and comfortable, we had superior room overlooking side road. We ate at the La Choppe, which we enjoyed. Breakfast was fabulous! Great choice.

This hotel was perfectly located but most importantly the staff was superb and the rooms spotless. The amenities in the room were appreciated, Nuxe products, fluffy towels and free drinks in the fridge. The staff was superb helpful and kind. We plan to stay here again.

Underwhelming experience

When we arrived we were informed that the lift was out of order. The desk clerk offered no help in taking our baggage up 2 flights of stairs. One of the young women staff member did help us after she saw us struggling with our bags. As we liked Rennes we thought we should stay another night and asked the male desk clerk, yes another one if this was possible. Yes he said and promptly booked us in. An hour later I received a text message to say he had made a mistake but he could book us into another hotel. Silly me, I assumed he meant any hotel. He of course meant another Accor hotel. The Accor hotel was 40 km away from the centre of Rennes. I told him to cancel it and I would make my own arrangements. On leaving the hotel the next morning no assistance was given by the male desk clerk to help with our bags. Yes the lift was still out of order after three days!! Another young woman, the cleaner by the way did assist us as she saw us struggle with our bags. A hotel with a couple of lazy and incompetent male desk clerks made this visit less than pleasurable. We will not be back

The hotel is small, but conveniently located. The breakfast (included) is so-so. But, the room was clean and comfortable for the few days we were there. But the real deal for me is how they helped me after we left. Despite all the traveling we do and how careful I am, I left our passports and about $800 in US currency in the safe. I didn't realize what I had done until we were hours away. I immediately called the hotel and the woman at the front desk went upstairs to the room I had occupied and rescued the items. She arranged to courier the items to me. Then the courier claimed there was no one available to accept delivery and returned them to the hotel. By this time we are even further on our trip and she resent them with a different courier and they were safely delivered to us. What a relief!!! Everything was intact and our trip continued smoothly. Here is a tip someone shared with me after words. The night before you leave, put on shoe you plan to wear the next day in, or on top of, the safe. I will do that on all future trips. Thank you Mercure.
