Hotel Mercure Nantes Centre Grand Hotel 4 estrelas

The location of the hotel is excellent, situated only a few steps from some of the most touristic areas. It is only a 5 minute walk to the bus stop of the TAN shuttle to the airport which takes 20 mins (9 euro). Being in the centre of the touristic areas does bring with it noise and liveliness which has to be expected. The lobby area is a refuge from this and is a modern tranquil area to lounge about and enjoy a drink. It is all very nicely decorated with plush furniture and artistic flavour. Off from the lobby is a business area, a bar and the breakfast room. The greeting at reception was very pleasant but unfortunately the room selected for me was not ready even though it was after check-in time. I had booked a privilege room and supposedly they were honouring my booking request for a larger room (for yoga), standard to have an upgrade as a Gold member and I was more than happy to head off into town for 45 mins. Upon return and entry to the room I was very surprised to see it was quite standard and indeed small by my standards. The room was well decorated and in keeping with the style of the hotel. The majority of the room was taken up with a very comfortable bed overlooked by a large screen TV. There was a comfortable seat with table, large enough to do some work on. There was a cabinet with mini bar inside stocked with a water, beer, soda and a fruit juice. This is replenished daily along with the coffee pods for the Nespresso machine. The room has a separate shower room and WC. The shower was a pleasant walk in with large rain shower head. The vanity area was however quite small and although there was a lock on the WC door, none on the shower room door. The room was very comfortable and inviting. However the WiFi was very disappointing. From the chair and table only two bars could be achieved on any device giving a download speed of 3mbs. If you stood at the door you got full bars of strength and around 20mbs. Going out into the hall and locating the router you could achieve 30mbs. They need to increase their routers in the corridors in order to reach all rooms properly. Forget Netflix and YouTube in bed. It could however do with a few touch ups of paint in areas and a good carpet clean to get rid of the stains. I enjoyed a cappuccino from the bar as my welcome drink but had to ring the bell and wait five minutes for a staff member to attend, this was even after going to reception to ask. I also never seemed to be able to time it right for the room cleaning. Whether I left early in the morning or late morning or early afternoon. On one day I left the "cleaning required" sign on while I was in, just so I could at least get the coffee replenished. At checkout there seemed to be confusion over breakfasts and carparking wanting additional money, none of which I'd taken. Overall this is a very pleasant hotel in a great location. It is very comfortable and well appointed but could do with some improvement.

Although the location is perfect - all the tourist attractions are right there around the corner - it kinda feels like a dodgy alleeway. It´s located deep in the old town so you have to wait for a taxi for a looong time, so you better order that in advance if you need to catch a flight on time. The floorplan is not like in your average hotel which is understandable as it´s an old building, but a bit more open floorplan in the rooms would be great. there´s a lot of corners and cabinets and not much space. Feels like being on a cruise ship - everything is there but is´s petite ;) The fittness centre consists of 3 instruments and 10 dumbells so don´t expect too much. But the hotel overall is OK, bed´s comfy, quite, people are friendly and the breakfast was nice. Couple of small things to improve: the phone in my room didn´t work, neither did the blowdryer. And perhaps a bit more information to be written down in English but that´s just a French thing I guess :) .

We had booked this hotel the night prior to our departure from Nantes Airport. It was centrally located but very busy and given the crowds and construction and difficulty finding the parking area we ended up putting on our hazards next to a parking lot and booking a different hotel out of Nantes Center. I was traveling with my father who had some ambulation issues and given the confusion of where to park, the location of the hotel, we decided to stay elsewhere out of town a bit. It did look lovely, however. Just be prepared for the construction.

What an amazing room! We visited on a relatively quiet day just for one night and we got super lucky that we got upgraded to a suite. It was incredible. The bath was the size of my bathroom at home! There was a living room with a massive tv and a playstation, bedroom was massive too and lovely decorated. The whole thing was so big you could get lost in it. What a lovely surprise and the staff couldn't be friendlier. We had a great stay. Wish we could stay longer cause that room blew us away :) Thank you

Hotel bem localizado, confortável e pessoal excelente. Quartos funcionais, zonas comuns agradáveis, alimentação óptima. Relação qualidade-preço correcta.
