5 stars fro the reception staffs but 2 stars for housekeeping.

This is a very nice place especially if you're travelling to Paris on a budget. The staffs at the reception are exceptional. Our experience started with Godsha & Julieta who handled our booking confirmation. Godsha and Zola welcomed us and made us feel so comfortable. It's a small hotel but these staffs have a big heart. They go extra mile to ensure your comfort. Then we met Mohammud Ali ( The Bangladeshi) who made a highlight on our trip. He was so friendly and warm. He even offered to book our taxi to airport and he did it. we were stress free - he was very nice and cater for each of your concern. Then we met the Comorian Mr Ali. We got to meet him on our last evening there but as nice as the others. An amazing team. HOWEVER, not the housekeeping team. They were so unfriendly and lacked basic ethics. They just knock once and open the door the next second not giving you time to respond or open the door. There was an instance where they knocked once open the main door and opened the toilet door which is very close to the front door and the bathroom was occupied even though there is no lock in the door. That was so unprofessional. This was done by the housekeeping lady.

I have stayed in different Ibis across Europe and this property is a bit of a love-hate relationship. Pros: - Perfect location; 4 train and metro stations (biggest one being Gare du Nord) in 5-minute walking proximity, so many great local cafe around, and on the quieter side of the neighborhood - Quick and efficient service, though leaning towards the very casual side - Room upgrade due to my ALL membership, we really liked and enjoyed the room Cons: - Took a deposit payment prior to my arrival and instead of using that for the room payment, I was asked to settle the total amount when I arrived - Needed to pay to store my luggage - Needed to go to the lobby to boil water in the kettle All in all, will we be back? Maybe yes due to the location but tempted to try similar establishments around the area..

Excellent location, close to Gare du Nord, Louis Blanc and Magenta metro stations. It was all decked out for Christmas and the reception area smelt fantastic - like Christmas in an upmarket spa. The rooms are basic, but that's what you expect. The plastic mattress protection was very noisy and made for a got night's sleep, but the bed itself was comfy. French hotels don't have tea and coffee in the rooms, but a kettle was provided in reception and there was filtered water on tap there too. The reception staff were excellent - allowing me to try out my rusty school girl French before rescuing me with their top notch language skills. Breakfast was great too. Spotless restaurant, with a really good selection of impeccably fresh foods and a good range of drinks.

An unscheduled stop off in Paris when all the Eurostars were cancelled as a consequence of some problem or other. We were a bit anxous that due to the Olympics there wouldn't be much availability but no problem. Partner has Accor membership so Ibis or Mercure would be our first choice and this was available. A short walk from Gare du Nord (note that there is at least one other Ibis, maybe two, near the station). A reasonable price given the time of year and that big sporting thingy. Hotel was quite comfortable for a single night stay. If we were staying longer, maybe we'd have looked for somewhere closer to tourist atrractions. However we did find a nice craft beer bar and a veggie restaurant within walking distance. It's an Ibis and you get what you pay for. It's not high end but it is comfy and convenient. Staff pleasant and location convenient.
