Don’t stay here >consider bad reviews first-not worth money- mercure changing to Movenpick

While this hotel Mercure is changing to Movenpick! I would like to inform anyone thinking to pay four hard earned money on another hotel, some tips on similar hotels below vvv We were reluctant to book Mercure due to bad reviews, while we enjoyed our first few days we were soon disappointed by unruliness Egyptian national big family group. Checking in: we checked in online, but reception takes long, with long queues annd small room due to refurbishment, and it not so smooth. The room is nice, facilities are nice and small which we like. Breakfast and dinner are nice, lunch is to be desired. WiFi is terrible even in the rooms, cuts off and low. Had to use our roaming many times. Kids club and activities are nice and the staff are very nice. Nearby horse/camel stable are great, we used them 3 times. No complaints. Funfly water sports was great, we went snorkeling. Spa was nice, small but overall nice. Further into our stay we upgraded. No problem for us. However, when you see other local Egyptian family up to 9 persons on B&B package according to their wrist bands, trying to sneak free food from snack bar and eating it in the main swimming pool, while fully clothed women and men alike. At first they are turned away by snack bar staff then management allows them. Tourists filming in disgust and complaints go unnoticed! Staff claim there’s a misunderstanding, these mentioned guests pay by check for food/beverage which is nonsense as it costs up to 1,000 LE x 9 for dinner and snack bar individual prices. Do you think local Egyptians will pay his much???? Yet they happy to charge us foreign/europeans! Save your money on other hotels nearby. We love Hurghada, Tips on nearby hotels book early for good deals->>>we previously had excellent services in Jaz hotels Makadi, Rixos and tropital, beaches in those hotels better kept than Mercure soon to be Movenpick.

Mercure hotel is amazing, I travelled alone and they made me feel like at home! The buffet it has a lot of variety, the waiters take care of you everyday with a big smile. The private Beach full of fish to snorkel, the pools and all the bars are just perfect. Lasta but not least... Animation Team is great! Always dancing, trying to make you feel Happy and confortable... Yesterday I went party to Hurghada and It was the BEST night ever!! Thanks CJ and Kadir! :)

Super staff, especially the entertainment staff (CJ is VIP), good food, clean( very important for my family). All in all it was pleasant time here!

We stayed at Mercure Hurghada and were very satisfied with our stay. The hotel has a large, well-maintained and green territory, with everything thoughtfully designed for a comfortable holiday. The rooms are spacious and clean, with comfortable beds, and housekeeping is done daily and to a high standard. The food was pleasantly diverse: there was always a good selection of meat and fish dishes, fresh vegetables, fruits, and delicious desserts. Special mention goes to the breakfasts — filling and varied. The staff in the restaurants and bars are polite, attentive, and always ready to help. The hotel beach is excellent: wide, clean, with a gentle entrance into the sea. There are coral reefs, so you can enjoy snorkeling right by the shore. There are plenty of sun loungers, and it’s always easy to find a free one. The sea is clean and warm. The animation is unobtrusive but enjoyable, with daytime activities, evening shows, and live music. The hotel is perfect both for a relaxing holiday and for families with children. Overall, Mercure Hurghada is a great combination of comfort, good service, and beautiful sea. We would gladly return and highly recommend this hotel for a holiday in Hurghada!
