I would think twice before booking at this hotel. And especially do not rely on their payments system. I booked 5 nights in Paris in December 2024. I booked on the website and payment was confirmed. I received a booking reference via email. Novotel then cancelled my booking, saying there was a payment problem, and never informed me. So 5 days before my trip, I contacted them to check everything was OK and they told me my reservation was cancelled. The staff and the manager did not lift a finger to help me. So I had to find somewhere else at the last minute. Very bad experience.

Dear Tom, We have read your 2 reviews on different platforms. You intiated your pre-paid booking through the website 3 weeks ago. The transaction failed which means there was a problem with your card and we did not receive the payment. In that case the booking is automatically cancelled as the paiment can not be done. Following that event you received an automatic mail informing you about the cancellation of your booking. Four days before your arrival, you contact us to validate your booking. Our team informs you about the cancellation and you mention not receiving a mail. Two days ago you contact our team again and we offer you to do the payment again keeping the initial price. You refuse saying you already have booked another hotel. You can not say our team "did not lift a finger" as we offer you to re-do the payment for the same booking. Thank you very much. We were in Paris for 3 nights and needed a room near Gare de Lyon, so this was an obvious choice. The room itself was fine, we slept well, staff were helpful. The location was just what we needed-right by the metro and TGV station, plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. It's Paris so it's not cheap, but we'd stay here again.

Horrible staff horrible hotel

Worst hotel experience, don't recommend for anyone to stay in that hotel. The room was dirty, tight and smell bad, cleaning services are horrible. They don't change beddings. Unprofessional rude staff. We had an incident there, the cleaner came into our room and scatter all the garbage around just to get extra charges for cleaning, so whoever want to stay there make sure you take photo for your room before you leave it. All in all, very bad experience maybe the only good thing about this hotel is its location next to the train station.

Our cleaning team does not scatter garbage around the rooms for fun or to had a small extra charges. Furthermore, for the stay above 2 days, our team changes the beddings at least every two days. Stayed here as a stopover on a long rail journey. Did a bit of advance research on how to get there from the train station and glad I did as no signage, that I could see, inside the station. However exited Hall 2 at Place Henri Frenay then turned left and walked for 90 seconds to the hotel entrance . Hotel common areas and the room were quite nice and the restaurant was fine for supper and breakfast. Only drawback was at the restaurant for breakfast where , except for someone checking your room number for those with breakfast included in their rate, there was no greeter for seating, coffee arrangement etc. However a minor point as this was a comfortable inn that did the job quite nicely.

The staff was friendly and nice, I arrived before the check in time and they offered me an option if I want to get a room that is readily available or the room assigned to me. The room was big and the housekeeping was super nice, Bathe was the one assigned to my room and she did a good job in keeping it clean and tidy. I also had a great time in the bar where the barista helped me pick the flavors of the ice cream they offered, which was good. The hotel was also located beside the train station which makes it convenient if you plan to explore Paris. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would book this again on my next trip to Paris.
