Convenient Stopover

Comfortable stay for an overnight layover. Location you can't get much closer to the gates, so it's nice not to have to go through security on a busy morning. Checkin friendly and quick, was warned that the most places close around 9pm. So promptly went out out to a local restaurant and returned to room. The bedroom was with a comfortable double, and I had a sound sleep. There are no issues with noise during the night. The bathroom was of a god size with a shower, basin, and toilet. There are no issues with the shower or fresh towels. No breakfast, as decided to have a McDonald's before checking out. Would happily stay again, beats having to go through immigration and security again

The Mercure at Schiphol Airport is a very basic accommodation inside security at Schiphol Airport that offers no other hotel services. The room was clean and sparsely furnished, more like a college dormitory room than a hotel. It was comfortable and adequate for our needs which was just to take a break from our traveling and get some rest. We had never been to Schiphol before so thought it was confusing, and the hotel was a difficult to find. Its location inside security can be a little problematic. Since you cannot bring suitcases to the hotel, you need to exit through customs and immigration, check your bags at the baggage check and then re-enter through security. You need to show your passport and boarding pass for your flight out of Amsterdam to re-enter. When departing, you must exit again through customs and immigration, collect your luggage, and then re-enter again. The airport is massive and very busy so leave yourself adequate time. A large plane of Taiwanese tourists arrived just before we arrived at immigration control. We barely had enough time to get our luggage, check in and get through security despite allowing 2 hours and 15 minutes for the process.

We needed a bed for the night between flights and wanted to stay airside. The hotel is thoughtfully designed and the rooms comfortable. Shower was excellent, and there were tea and coffee making facilities in the room. It was so quiet, mainly because the rooms have no windows, so all aircraft and terminal noise is kept out. It is expensive but the convenience was worth it. They also gave shower-rooms which you can rent too. The tap did have water damage to it which seemed out of place as the rest of the facilities were in good order. Our only disappointment was that the receptionist did not want to accept cash, which we had specifically brought to pay for the room.

We didnt realize this hotel is past security so you can only bring non checked baggage (night before your flight). Check in says 8pm and check out 9am so pretty limited time. Because the 8pm check in was strange we called the hotel two days before to confirm check in time. The fellow that answered said 3pm. We arrived at 6pm. The check in staff were incredibly rude, didnt believe us on calling and made us recall the number so it rang at their desk. They then switched to dutch to speak in front of us. If we had not already paid we would have left immediately. The rooms were adequate. The following morning, to top it off, I turned the wrong tap in the shower and the water was immediately scalding hot and i burned the left side of my body. Completely my own doing but my husband and i remarked what if it was a child? I gave the feedback to the lovely front desk women when we checked out. This hotel would be fine to have a shower or short sleep (you can rent for just 4 hours which is likely their business model, not overnight guests) if you were flying in and out of amsterdam, but if you are just flying out, go to a regular hotel at the airport. I picked this one because we have stayed multiple times in hotels in a terminal around the world and it is an all accor hotel which we are long time members of. Overall really disappointing, first set if staff so rude, relatively expensive (we had two rooms), no amenities like in room coffee maker, conditioner in the shower etc.
