The location near the river, glass bridge, and park was excellent. They were doing a lot of roadwork, so not the prettiest view. Bare bones room, more like hostel living. The shower leaked, and seemed a little unsafe. The room temperature is kept at a range (really warm) and couldn’t be changed so sleeping was difficult; it was pretty hot. All the historical attractions were uphill, but that was to be expected. We ended up not staying our full-time at this hotel and moving to a different hotel mid trip.

Bed was very comfortable with quality linen, we had a wonderful view of the park and river (5th floor in even numbered room) There was major roadworks outside but the windows provided good sound proofing. Minor negative - not much space to hang clothing and no drawers so for 2 of us staying for 6 days it was inconvenient. Breakfast was plentiful although no variation in daily options.

Great and convenient location. Friendly staff. Good breakfast buffet.

I've stayed at Coimbra Ibis Centro a number of times between November 2023 and April 2024, while traveling on business. Despite being a 2 stars hotel, It feels more like a 3 stars for its accommodations, and a 5 stars as far as location. The only reason I don't give it a 4 stars for accommodation, is because on every occasion I stayed there, whether it was in the fall, winter, or an unusually warm spring this year, the hotel has a "central heating and A/C system", and the rooms always felt unseasonably hot. It was like sleeping in a sauna. Every time I stayed there, I had to borrow a portable fan, and complained on several occasions about this situation. So I never really slept too well due to the high temperatures in the rooms during both cold and warm months. The location was well worth the sacrifice, but I will not be staying there in the Summer.

A very conveniently located hotel, right around the corner from the main downtown area of the city. Very walkable within five minutes. The hotel is in good condition and well decorated. The bed was quite comfortable. The shower had good water, pressure, although could’ve benefited from a door as water gets all over the bathroom. Unfortunately, despite having the air conditioner on full blast, the room never really got cool enough. We requested a fan which helped only slightly. Staff are very kind, engaging and helpful. The breakfast set up is a simple European Continental style.
