Good option for business in Algiers, with large, clean comfortable rooms & beds, (bathroom a bit dated, and would prefer larger shower & no bath 🤷‍♂️), yet otherwise all more than acceptable/required. Also, centrally located, with decent Wi-Fi, and all necessary amenities, backed up by generally some excellent & professional service - compliments especially to professionalism of the front desk staff, as well as bar manager 👍!

Poor service and smelly carpets

I do not recommend Sofitel Algiers Hamma Garden. The front desk staff member who spoke English well had a lot of attitude, and I wish I knew his name. He was thin, quite tall, bald, and had a mustache. He asked for my partner’s passport, and when I asked him if he also wanted mine, he replied that if I was staying at this hotel, then he needed my passport too. His tone was harsh. I responded that when he asked my partner, I thought it might be like some hotels in certain countries where one passport is enough. He asked me in which countries they don’t ask for everyone’s passport. It is true that some countries don’t require both passports. For instance, Canada, the United States, the European Union (Schengen Area), Australia, and New Zealand. The guy acted unprofessionally, trying to assert his knowledge of the hotel industry worldwide. I was standing right next to my partner, and he wished him a happy stay but completely ignored me, as if I didn’t exist. I found that very disrespectful. Additionally, every floor and room had a terrible smell, with old, musty carpets. We requested to change our room twice, but it remained unsatisfactory, and we had no other options. The service was slow overall. We stayed at other hotels in town where the service and facilities were far better. Avoid Sofitel Algiers Hamma Garden.

Many thanks to abir the guest experince for her professionnel job,i booked for one night but because of her i stayed for two nights. Perfect suite and good environnement, thankful for the quality of service.. i wil back for sure to this hôtel and good staff but the staff of swimming pool must ne changed

Would be a five but unfortunately they do not enforce the no smoking at the pool and corridors. Otherwise excellent. Great valets at entrance, effective concierge with widely spoken English. Great restaurant choices although expensive. Clean and modern rooms and helpful cleaners.

Sloppy and late service spoils everything

The service level at the Le Bar is pathetic. My chicken wing came late by 45 minutes. I kept waving at the waiter for his attention for a margarita. Instead a visitor comes to me to ask what’s the problem. I told him it’s none of his business. It almost ends as a bar room brawl. None of this would have been necessary if the waiters were even really responsive. The setting is really nice but the bad service really spoils everything.
