Perfect for what we needed. Great location and comfy rooms. Bed so comfy. Slept very well. Bar looked nice but didn't try. Both happy here. Friendly staff and will return. Thank you.

Good location but strange place

Location very close to New street train station, right in China Town and near Gay Village, not far at all from many sights and city centre and canals. Breakfast is super and staff mostly ok. Let downs are the place just feels tired and my room could do with an upgrade. Heater is ancient and took ages to mildly heat the room. One knob was broken. Shower was good, plenty of hot water. Fire alarm went off on the Saturday night in the early hours and on Sunday the bar wasn't open at 8pm when I came back after having been out all day! It is advertised as 24/7 so I wasn't sure what the customer service person meant. It's to reopen again at 9pm, so I've been told. I'll not hold my breath. I wouldn't be dying about coming back here tbh. For the same money I'm sure there are better hotels in Birmingham

It was a short visit but very enjoyable. Hotel location is great, interior is specious, very relaxing and comfortable.

We booked this hotel with my sister in November, we got room 227. The room had dry vomit on the carpet, the beds when so uncomfortable, radiators very old took forever to warm the room. The carpets in the hall way was very dirty. The location was great and the breakfast. Very disappointed.

I strayed for one night, it was booked by work so I can’t comment on value for money. Overall, it fell short of my expectations for an Ibis, which are usually lovely. The location is great, very close to New St station. The shower was very powerful. The room was very dated and basic - I expect its’s in line for an upgrade. It wasn’t that clean - there were crumbs under the desk, and the teabag packaging was damaged/old. Breakfast was tasty, but the service was varied: the greeter and an older woman were very friendly, while another younger woman was surly. There’s noise from other rooms - I was on the third floor and could hear the room above me. Luckily I had my earplugs. The bed was weird - looked like a mattress topper had been put on top of an old tatty mattress. The decor throughout the hotel made me wonder if it was aimed at a youth market, as it had the air of a youth hostel. Unless it was upgraded, I probably wouldn’t choose to stay again.
