This modern hotel has a split personality. Some elements rate 5 star some 0 or minus. My wife and I stayed for three nights in their only disabled access room in June, it costs about 200 euros per night excluding breakfast. We were delayed arriving so didn't check in until around 2300. Check in staff were very good and we went up to our room. It had been made up (maybe?) but not cleaned! Excretia in the toilet bowl, bits of second hand toothpaste in the sink (which was blocked up). Complained to the night porter who came up to the room just after midnight as was genuinely embarrassed. But, the hotel was full and this was the only accessable room in the hotel! The room was given a quick clean to get us through the night. The following morning met by the very good manager who again apologised cancelled the nights charge from the bill (we paid in advanced) and said he would rectify the situation. He (Jimmy) was ashamed and seemed quite frankly shocked. We went out for the day and came back to a very clean room. On our 2nd and final full day the room was not made up at all, beds not made, no towels no toilet roll coffee etc. Again complained to the two very nice young women on reception who were very nice and very apologetic. It was our last night and were given a free (and very good breakfast). Serving manager and staff could not have been more helpful. So, great location, really great staff, great breakfast, awful, awful housekeeping (apparently sub contracted out). Should you stay in the Mercure Den Hague? You choose! Incidently, I said I was going to put a review out and Jimmy the manager said " You must be truthful".

Lovely comfortable room, really Central to everything in The Hague and only a few metres from a tram stop. We had a slight issue with our personal bikes not being available to us due to a bank holiday closing the neighbouring bike garage that the hotel had directed us to use. I have to say that our complaint to the hotel management was dealt with extremely efficiently and effectively and has led me to say with complete confidence that I would recommend and would stay at the Mercure again. More importantly I am confident that they have taken steps to ensure that this wouldn't happen again so full marks to the Mercure Den Hague

Great location with a few issues

I was staying 5 nights. I had originally booked for 3 but wrote to reception back in November I wanted to extend the stay to 5 nights. I did ask should I just make a new reservation and they said no, it was recorded. This was confirmed as was the new price. When I arrived at reception, they had no record of my 5 night stay and I had to find the email to confirm both the extension and the remaining nights to pay. The person was lovely and sorted it out, but I felt a bit strange about it. Then after the 3rd night I received an automatic check out message so I checked with reception and they thought I was checking out and I had to go through the whole thing again. I had already paid so I explained that too. Anyway perhaps a note could have been added or something on the system. The location was perfect. I felt safe walking around at night and it was very convenient for the Amare centre. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was hot and the shower was a good size. I liked they had some BBC channels. I think on day 4, the wifi was down. This is not reception’s fault but it was out for probably 30 hours. This seems quite odd in a major hotel for it to be out for so long. Unfortunate but it was fixed eventually. Staff were nice. Lifts worked well.
