Well located reasonably priced hotel in Rouen!

This is a good hotel in Rouen. We used Rouen as a base to go the Paris Olympics. The room were clean although the air con was a bit hot and miss. The staff were helpful and friendly (although they did mess up on early morning taxi when rushing for a train - it ended up fine). The breakfasts were good. Pretty cost effective and well located for a short walk into the main part of town.

A flat pillow and no extra one in the room. No chance of requesting a second from housekeeping as the phone didn’t work. No bedside table, shelf or anything. I would haven thought these were fairly basic items in a hotel room. The hotel generally looked tired compared to other Mercury hotels.

We were guest for 13 nights and the staff was outstanding. The beds were very comfortable, and the room was very large. The breakfast was fantastic, and the dinner menu was very good. The location was perfect for walking and being along the River Seine. The staff was very gracious to help us with our needs during our stay. Your efforts were noticed and keep up your high standards.

We were part of a group and check in was swift. However, there was no soap in the shower and wash basin dispensers. On informing reception, they were able to give us some but as there was no housekeeping after 6pm, we were unable to fit it into the holder. There was no remote control for the tv and it took 24 hours to resolve this problem. No further issues developed over the 4 days we stayed there, having stayed in Accor hotels over many years, surely a member of the Accor group can do better than this.

Nice hotel, good location, poor breakfast

We look for several things in any hotel, this Mercure hotel has most of them, BUT not one. There are 2 Mercure hotels in Rouen, the other is in the very heart of the city and is much more expensive, but this still has a good location (around 600 m from the centre). Room was fine, nice view, decent air conditioning, reasonable size, staff friendly/helpful, with great English spoken. Normandy is the producer of some excellent fruit, cheeses, meats etc - sadly the breakfast at the hotel is very poor, which is a serious issue given the quality of breakfast we've had at numerous other similar European hotels. One item missing out of several - just a shame as it could be "100% excellent"
