From its prime location in the center of all the action in Tilburg, to the comfortable rooms with all the extras to make your visit easy, to the incredible breakfast buffet and other meals and drinks in the bar. Mercure is THE place to stay in Tilburg. Mercure is a quick walk from the train station, just down the street from the concert venue, in the plaza with lots of shopping and some of the best restaurants we have ever dined in. The views are wonderful as well. You will not be disappointed!

Noisy... new restaurant in hotel is bad

It was 4 stars (noisy location), but now it is 3 stars. The rooms are the same (still noisy, bring plugs), but the restaurant has changed. Very slow service, inexperienced staff who are not visible (nor a manager), and cold food. Fortunately, there are many other nice restaurants in the area. Breakfast good.

Mercure restaurant

I ate in the Mercure restaurant and had a lovely truffle pasta dish and warm bread with tapenade and garlic butter sides. The Italian red wine came recommended by Robin, (who served me in the restaurant and made me feel so welcome and comfortable), and the wine was as good as he said it would be. Great friendly staff, good food and wine, enjoyable evening all round. I recommend the hotel and its restaurant and I'll dine there again.

Office Managers lies and discriminate !

Last year just after Carnaval my wife wanted to experience ones the carnaval, is just that I need to have my medical cannabis and therefor asked for a room with a balcony ... this was not possible as it was more the one that comes first will get it! So I said that this is medical and like a blind dog that this a reason to give the balcony room and as nothing is down I am first.... as my wife wanted last week bit more certainty that we get the room.... of witch was said they will do anything to make it possible.... now 3 days before we drove of we got a mail from the office manager that she did so much but was not able to give us the balcony! .... but now comes as this was promised for a group that comes every year!! So it's possible if you are Dutch can reserve the balcony but foreigners like us not.... and if she know this all year... why was we never told by other staff? We highly believe she gets paid without the hotel knowing so some can have reservations privilege !! What she offert was that I can go and leave my wife at the room and go and have my medical cannabis on a court yard you would not even leave your view nothing! as the group has 4 balcony she did not even wanted to look if they can share a balcony together so we also has ours! And it was right away NO .... As we travel a lot and this is the first time you can't book for a balcony and is it to the good mood of the Staff where they put you to not even a room with a window that can open can be guarantied !! The office manager gave us 2 hour to think.... as she left at 15.00 as my wife is a doctor and she had still patients to deal with, we did not got anything back !! We feel so discriminated and unwanted !!

Dear Mr. Eric B, Thank you for reaching out to us via Tripadvisor. First and foremost, we deeply regret that you felt discriminated and unwanted in our hotel in Tilburg. That was never our intention. As explained, we have a limited number of rooms with balconies. Requesting a room with a balcony is not a guarantee, as we cannot promise this in advance. My colleague was in the process of assigning rooms for the carnival weekend and found that several guests wanted a balcony room. Choices had to be made. The choice did not fall on your reservation but was based on who had booked first. She chose a group that returns annually. They had made a reservation for carnival 2024 after already having one for carnival 2023. It is not the case that the room was reserved for these guests or that they received preferential treatment. My colleague informed you about this via email, and then there was a telephone conversation. She offered a solution so that you could still take your medication. The solution offered was for you to use our covered smoking area, which is only accessible to hotel guests. Unfortunately, this solution proved inadequate, and the subsequent contact was perceived as unpleasant by both my colleague and myself. We deeply regret that emotions ran so high and that there is so much dissatisfaction towards my colleague and the hotel. For this, we once again offer our sincere apologies. Cancellation was not our initial intention, but after several contact moments where the communication was also perceived as unpleasant from our side, this seemed the best option.
