No heating in room despite notifying staff

We arrived at 16h and there was no heating, the room was freezing. After speaking to the front desk and several visits to the room with staff, I was assured the heating was on and it would take a while. We went out for dinner and when we arrived, the room was still at 14 degrees. After midnight, nobody at the front desk, no replies from the telephone. After screaming and waiting to see if somebody was there, we finally found someone, the front desk was unstaffed from at least half an hour. After several phone calls, the night guard moved us to another room. After 1AM we were finally in a warm room. No apology, no gesture.. Nothing. We are grateful to the night guard who went out of his way and spent a long time on the phone with management to find us an equivalent room.

I have stayed in this hotel for 4 days. Nice location, friendly staff and spacious rooms. Room cleanness was not good, I checked in and asked to vacuum the room and clean the garbage from previous guest. However Daily cleaning was good. Mini fridge was missing in the room. Overall happy with hotel and staff. Thank you.

Clean. Restful. City hotel nest beach. Although clean long black hair on floor of bathroom. Sheets and bedding crisp clean. Room normal for European. Will check breakfast out assuming it’s nothing short of amazing. Here a few days with family.

Stayed in room 401 which appeared to be located in the stairwell. Room is very small. You can just move around the bed. The bed itself is fine. No room for a closet to put clothes. No room to leave a suitcase. The bathroom was OK but the shower had lots of fungus on the door. Pity. Breakfast and service fine. Private parking but very expensive. All in all good location for just to sleep one night. Room tarief in accordance with experience.

This has been a very disappointing stay, even if you are expecting an "Ibis basic" experience, as we were. As many reviewers have noted, the rooms need major updates and attention. The bathrooms are small and the showers do not drain properly, which leads to smells. The TVs are tiny, not all channels work. The hotel is very close to the beach, but unless you are on the top floor, you will get a view of nothing from your balcony room (parking lot, in my case). If your balcony is in front, note that for the coming months there are major building works on the road and you will have construction dust and loud noise. The breakfast and bar have been curtailed due to corona, but this is fine -- we all have to adapt to this. What this means, however, is that your room is your oyster. And so when you hang the "do not disturb" to get a lazy morning, and then take off the sign and leave later that morning, and specifically phone reception asking to please send housekeeping to your room, you assume it will be done. But it is not done, and when you return in the late afternoon you are told housekeeping is gone and there is nothing that can be done now! Wow. Because they lost my request, and somehow no one is working there anymore at 4pm, we are in a bit of a bad place in our oyster. Housekeeping skipped us and also didn't do a second check because of "do not disturb" the day before, and did a bare minimum job (really laughable) the day before that. So now my bed is full of three days of sand, the floor is gritty with sand (you are next to the beach, remember!), the one tiny garbage can is overflowing, and we are down to our last dribble of soap. I'm now finding my holiday pretty depressing, to be honest. I'm bagging and trying to put out my own garbage, and if I wanted to do that I could have booked an Airbnb and paid less. I am no snob, but when I pay for hotel service, even 3 star, I expect that 3 star minimum service. I once stayed in a so called 2 star post-Soviet dump of a hotel in Tbilisi which had threadbare sheets and dead bugs in the bathtub, but it's funny, at least there I never ran out of soap or had to take out my own trash! Unbelievably, housekeeping skipped my room once again on the 4th day... no, there was no "do not disturb" sign this morning so I have no idea why we were skipped, I will spare you the rest of the boring details. Several hours and a few phone calls, and finally my room was cleaned mid-afternoon. (I wanted to relax in my room but had to leave for the cleaning, which should have happened in the morning) This experience has put me off Ibis forever. I can pay the same amount of money, walk an extra ten minutes to the beach, and stay at NH where I know housekeeping is functional and the rooms are modern -- which is exactly what I'm going to do next time. Please do not be sucked in by the safe, bland "Ibis basic" thing that I was, this hotel does not even meet those standards. I've seen it all and this even shocked me.
