Very nice location but the incompetence of the staff could only be suitable for a two-star hotel.

Dear Lind L T, Thank you very much that you have taken the time to share your feedback about your stay in our hotel! We are really glad to read that you appreciated the quiet location of our hotel along the edges of the woods with an unique view across Freiburg and the surrounding area. At the same time we have read with detailed attention your comment about the behaviour of one of our employees in the restaurant. Generally, we get a lot of positive feedback for the friendliness, helpfulness and professionalism of our whole team. Rest assured that the situation you are describing absolutely do not correspond to our philosophy. We will discuss the issues internally and incorporate them into our regular in-departmental trainings so that similar situations will not reoccur in the future. We really want to apologize for any inconvenience caused. We deeply regret that you have decided to no longer consider our hotel on your future visits to Freiburg. We are really pleased to read that you especially appreciated the quiet location of our hotel along the edges of the woods with a unique view across Freiburg and the surrounding area as well as our abundant breakfast buffet and your visit of our restaurant "Chez Eric". Furthermore, we thank you for your comments concerning the pricing in our hotel. We are working according to a dynamic pricing system. This means that the room rates vary on a daily basis according to the booking situation for the respective date as well as to seasonal conditions (holiday periods, fairs, events ...). We allow us to charge € 19,00 per person and day for our abundant breakfast buffet. This price includes all hot and cold food and drinks presented on the buffet. Coffee specialties are served directly at the table; they are also included in the price, yet. You are right - it is not included in the room rate for direct bookings and online bookings. There are two reasons for this: Overnight stays and breakfast are subject to different VAT rates, which must be listed separately and our guests have also the possibility to leave out breakfast.
