I enjoyed my stay at this convenient hotel. It is getting a little dated but is still okay and reasonable for the price, although will need some work very soon to maintain the Novotel brand standard. The hotel is easy walking distance to the shopping mall at Meriadeck and only a little further on foot to the main city centre shopping district and historic attractions. The hotel restaurant is good, although it would be great help if the menu was printed with even a little English language guidance - the staff there were helpful with assisting me to find what I liked, except one who said it was in French only and made no effort to offer guidance. Rooms are comfortable and cleaned well every day. I have two comments of constructive feedback for management. Firstly, the mugs provided in the rooms for hot drinks are unable to be used as they do not have handles. Plus, mine had chips in them and need to be thrown out. I had to ask to borrow a mug with handle from the restaurant. What is the point of a mug that can't be used? Secondly, as an Accor Diamond loyalty member it is the usual custom to receive an appropriate welcome amenity at each hotel. Nothing was provided here to recognise this status. This needs some attention in planning at management level. Overall, I am happy with the stay but hope you can consider my suggestions.

Conveniently located just minutes from the Palais de Justice tram stop, this hotel offers easy access to both Bordeaux’s city center and the airport. With several supermarkets nearby and the Meriadeck Mall a short walk away, everything you need is within reach. For those looking to explore, a 20-minute walk takes you to the famous Rue Sainte-Catherine shopping street. The hotel's brutalist exterior might receive mixed reactions, but step inside and you’re greeted with a modern, chic atmosphere. Contemporary furnishings, neon accents, and playful touches like pinball machines and table football create a youthful, energetic feel. The lobby provides a variety of seating areas, from workstations to lounge spaces, which extend into the bar and restaurant area, complete with a terrace for outdoor seating. Check-in was smooth and welcoming, with a complimentary upgrade to a privilege room, courtesy of my Accor status. The room was well-appointed, featuring plush furnishings and all the modern conveniences, including a Nespresso machine, mini-fridge, and a large, comfortable bed. The lighting options and bedside charging points added extra convenience. While the bathroom was modern and functional, it lacked a rain shower, which has become a standard expectation in many hotels. A notable aspect of the hotel is its commitment to eco-friendly practices. From offering a donation in lieu of room cleaning to reducing paper waste with engraved wooden signage for room information, it’s clear they are making a real effort toward sustainability. Overall, a wonderful stay that combines modern comfort with thoughtful design, making it an excellent choice for both business and leisure travelers.

Good sized, clean room and quite well located for the price. But there’s definitely room for improvement. Our room was in need of some maintenance - the shower leaked and the toilet flush needed attention. This should have been picked up when cleaning/preparing the room for guests. On arrival, check in was ok but could have been friendlier. We were offered a refillable bottle for water, but only one between the two of us, which seemed odd, though a second was provided later when I requested it. On the other hand, our friends checking in at the same time, didn’t get offered a bottle at all but did receive a map and guidance on what to do, where as we weren’t. Small things but training would perhaps result in a more consistent, professional welcome. The late checkout option proved farcical. Having paid €50 to checkout at 4pm, we discovered on the day of our departure that our keys no longer worked. There was a long queue at reception but after a short wait, I did get given one that worked. After lunch, we decided to have a rest before our journey, only to be interrupted three times by housekeeping staff within half an hour, despite the ‘do not disturb’ on the door. The last staff member to interrupt our rest seemed quite peeved that we were there. Clearly, a late checkout option only works if the fact that customers have paid for it is communicated to staff. Overall, not a terrible experience, but neither was it particularly memorable for the right reasons. I probably wouldn’t return.

We stayed here for our city break to Bordeaux and we really enjoyed our stay. The staff on the reception were so friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Check in was quick, it’s a 3pm check in, but the young man told us to come back for 1pm and our room would be ready. They took our luggage for us while we went out. When we came back our room was ready, I had asked for the top floor, which I got. The room was very nice, bed was very comfortable, separate shower room and toilet. A desk, a couch, a mini fridge with complimentary drinks, which were filled up everyday. TV, radio, gowns and slippers, very clean and plenty of room. We had breakfast with our stay, we had this delivered to our room every morning, this was ordered via a menu which you filled out and hung on your door of a night. You said a time and our breakfast was on time every morning. The hotel had a great reception, very modern, lots of artwork, there was a bar and a terrace to sit in to have a drink or food. The prices are a little expensive, you can get drinks and food cheaper in town. It’s under a minutes walk from the tram stop, Palice de justice, so handy to get to and from the airport for 1E90each way each person. My only moan is that they still let people smoke on the terrace, so if you sit there you get lots of smoke. In todays anti smoking environment I did think this was nit feast. One of their lifts was broken, so everyone had to use the same lift, which meant you could have a wait for the top floor! This was all explained to us when we checked in. This is also a dog friendly hotel, so lots of people with dogs there. I love my stay here.

The entrance is a bit of a jumble with lots of neon signs none of which say Novotel. Check in was ok but only 1 lift working (still not fixed 3 days later) so very hard to get cases and 2 people up to the 4th floor. the room was clean but .... The toilet flush button assembly was hanging off the wall There was no fridge (just a space where it had been) BUT our friends had one in thier upgraded room so nothing to do with being green..... No drawers to put anything in or doors on the cupboard 1 teabag!!! (requested more but had to go to reception in the end ) Next day only 1 teabag again (is there a shortage in france?) The promised wireless charger dd not work. Paper cups and mugs with no handle (too hot to hold your tea) Useless badly positioned power points. THE BREAKFAST The tables were very badly positioned so you could not walk between chairs to get to the buffet where the small selection of items ran out all the time and items in the end not replaced at all (you know how many people have ordered breakfast so no excuses) The coffee station was shoved into a tight corner next to the tea station only one person could self serve at a time. The mugs (with handles yay) ran out. Any challenge to the situation was met by very rude staff who said it had been like this fo 5 years --- great! Impossible to get the lift after 2 tries as at 8.30 as the room cleaning staff had taken over the only working lift. cherry on the cake. What has happened to this brand. SAVE your money and go o the ibis budjet next door.
