We booked the hotel for a one night stay, however when we arrived at the hotel, there was security on the door not allowing us access, as the hotel had been exclusively booked until 3pm. I totally understand that check in is from 3pm, but to not be allowed in the hotel is ridiculous. We had travelled 5 hours and were looking forward to a rest and some refreshments. My wife wanted to use the ladies only to be told she would have to go somewhere else. I think as a professional outlet, the hotel could have had the courtesy to email guests prior to arrival to inform them that the hotel was closed until 3pm, so that we could have booked alternative accommodation.

Short walk from the station, in a good location for the town centre. Felt a bit worn out, the hotel, not me, fairly quiet and a bit drab. Staff were all helpful, polite and efficient. Wandered around the town for food, finally chose an Italian, but could not get a table as they were closing, it was 8pm, a quiet night in Ipswich💤 Ate at hotel instead, it was just food, nothing to write home about, hot and well presented but a bit ordinary.

Problems with the tv led to a very poor experience. Not enough staff in reception. Reception member of staff something less than helpful. After 2 hours and a delayed visit to the room (only after I chased reception by physically going down) I was offered another room. At 10 pm. Five phone calls and a message left. Won't stay again.

Clean tidy room... comfy beds... hot and lovey food.... friendly staff and very helpful from the moment we checked in till the minute we checked out.. great price for a last minute booking... would definitely stay again and recommend to family and friends...

Stayed here over the weekend for a base after a wedding and I was impressed. All the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. The room was fantastic, nicely decorated, large space. Bed was super comfy and got a great night sleep. Bathroom was very spacious and was suprised to find a shower and a separate bath. Breakfast was brilliant. Great selection and the mini chocolate croissants were the best I have had. All the downstairs and communal areas were clean and fresh and looked great. Hands down the best hotel I have stayed in Ipswich and great value for money.
